I've connected an ide drive to my pc with this unit, it's showing up but I can't access the drive? Any advice would be welcome.

The IDE drive must be configured as a slave and not as a master. If the IDE was the only drive in you previous set up, then more than likely, the jumper settings on the hard-drive have configured it to a master drive. Either in the users' manual, or a decal on the side of the drive, there should be a diagram indicating the pin/jumper position for a slave drive.

The blue indicator light does not light up to indicate that there is a problem with the connection of the product,
It is possible that the USB data cable or the USB port is abnormal or defective.
It is also possible that the hard disk itself is abnormal and cannot be read.

Solution:
1. Unplug the hard disk first, and connect the product to the computer normally without inserting the hard disk.
- If the red and blue indicators are always on at this time, it means that the blue indicator does not light up until the product is inserted into the hard disk. It is inferred that the hard disk should have a problem of poor contact or abnormal reading. Replace a hard drive and try to reconnect it;
- If the red indicator lights are always on and the blue indicator light is off at this time, it means that there is a problem with the connection between the product and the computer. If possible, please change a USB cable, or change a computer/a USB port and try to reconnect.
