Bought these to replace the nylon hooks on a pencil pleat curtain top. The nylon hooks are okay, but they become brittle with time and have a tendency to snap when you are trying to rethread a curtain after washing. These wire hooks slide into the loops much more easily and I expect will last much longer.

So much better than the plastic ones I was using and which have disintegrated.

They are fine for the job and so much nicer than plastic hooks and dont go brittle ether!

On reading other reviews, I expected these hooks to be much stronger. As a child, we always had metal curtain hooks, and they really were stout. The metal in these is barely more than wire. I am hoping that by using a lot of them they will be fine for very heavy curtains though, and have ordered some more. They are very easy to insert into the heading tape, and the curtain rings are easy to fix onto them. I don't know yet, of course, whether they will go all horrid and manky like those stout curtain hooks we used as a child. Note that just as they are easy to insert, it is also very easy for the curtain rings to slip off them, which could be a nuisance. One is caught between Scilla and Charybdis with curtain hooks. The plastic ones that are made to stay one, are difficult to remove and when you try they break. These will not break, I don't think, but they may bend with time.

Great quality, very smooth and easy to use. Gone are the days of the brushed steel hooks that could rust and pull, these glide quickly and easily on to the curtain and slip quickly and easily on to the rail. They are not the cheapest hooks, but they were delivered the next day and you get what you pay for, higher quality for the higher price.
