Seems very well made. Definitely commercial grade. Installation was not straight-forward, probably because I was going from a residential grade to commercial. This requires two extra holes vertically, which is nice because it'll attach this handle to the door really well. The instructions were good, and there is a 1:1 drawing of the holes that need to be drilled. I opted to drill the extra holes to the exact size 5/16" for a very snug fit, but the instructions call for 3/8" holes to give you some error tolerance. Adjusting for door thickness was also a little time consuming, had to take a few things apart to make the adjustment, put it together again to test fit, repeat.The lock cylinder is a 6 pin Schlage. I rekeyed using Schlage pins. The locking system is such that the key operates as the door handle would, only. It doesn't technically unlock it. The lock button on the inside can be pressed in to lock the outside door handle. Turning the key will open the door and pop out the lock button, unlocking it. The inside lock button can also be pressed in and turned. The key will then open the door, but not pop the lock button, keeping the it locked.

Very nice quality. Like many Chicom products, there is no contact information for the manufacturer or US importer on the box or instructions, so you deal only with the US reseller. Because of this, I was on the edge between 4 and 5 stars, however, this is not a risk when buying from Amazon because of the return policy.Unlike claimed in another review, you do not have to drill two extra holes to mount this. The latch has optional supports that go through two extra 3/8" holes, but this is optional (read the instruction sheet carefully). It provides for a stronger mount against a brute force attack, but I did not find it necessary - plus the version I got was a passageway version without any lock.You need a small notch in edges of the large hole in the door at 3:00 and 9:00. These are easily added with a file; just be sure to see this in the instrucitons so you bring the right tools when you do the install.

These door handle & lock assembly, are the best, heavy duty, I have 606 stores that I'm responsible for maintenance, these are the locks I always use. Amazing quality. The only problem I'm having is that it looks like I'm receiving locks that have been sold and then returned, and that's still not a problem, but what is a problem is that there's no hardware at all, so when I'm at a job site and I'm already installing the assembly, that becomes a big problem for me. Please make sure that the hardware is in the box.

Got it to replace a broken entryway lock. Easy to install and worked well.

This is a good lock for an office.

We run a convenience store/gas station and have a restroom we lock at night when closed. Apparently someone wanted to use the bathroom after hours and decided to use force to try to get in and broke our old lock. We ordered this to replace it and it is great. It is strong and durable and so far has kept the riffraff out. Good product, highly recommend!

This item was used . This something very bad . It’s lock with keys anyone can have copy . Plus I bought this item to be new not used .
