After carrying and using it regularly, it feels like a knife designed with an incredible amount of restraint and attention to detail. Nothing feels excessive, yet almost everything feels refined. The first thing that stood out to me was how smooth the action is. Deployment feels fast and satisfying without being overly aggressive, and the button lock design makes opening and closing the knife feel effortless. It quickly becomes one of those knives you absentmindedly fidget with because the mechanical feel is just that enjoyable. The 2.96" Nitro-V blade has also been excellent in real-world use. It arrives sharp, holds an edge well, and handles everyday cutting tasks with ease. Whether opening packages, breaking down boxes, cutting cord, or general utility work, the blade shape feels incredibly practical. It strikes a nice balance between precision and durability without trying to look overly tactical. The Ultem handle gives the knife a unique look while still remaining lightweight and comfortable in hand. What I appreciated most is that the knife carries easily in the pocket without feeling bulky or intrusive. It disappears when you’re not using it, which is exactly what a good EDC knife should do. Build quality across the entire knife feels outstanding for the price. Lockup feels secure, tolerances are tight, and everything about it gives the impression of a much more expensive knife. This was rated as the best bang for buck knife and the reviewers used the crappiest version. What’s the crappiest version? The natural G10 handle one. The problem with the G10 models (which isn’t that bad, especially for a nitro v blade and button lock under $120) is the handle. There’s an inner metal skeleton which sticks out, and the G10 doesn’t really do the nitro v (a top-tier steel) justice. Buy the aluminum one. It’s thinner and way lighter, there’s no inner skeleton and then handle scale…it’s just the aluminum. It really streamlines the build and look of the knife, makes it thinner in your pocket…and is just a pretty unique grip. This knife is praised for the blade flipping out easily, almost addictively. The same goes for the button lock, which is recessed and perfectly placed. It is super super sharp, and the steel it’s made of means it stays super super sharp for forever. It’s not a super steel, but it’s better than all other steels including 14C28N and D2. It takes a sharper edge than the 14C28N but is tougher (meaning strangely that it’s softer) than the D2. D2 is an incredibly hard steel at an affordable price…but you need diamond sharpeners to maintain the edge. Ok but trust me and get the aluminum one, it’s lighter than even the CIVIVI Mini-Praxis (a silky, beautiful knife that disappears in your pocket but has a surprisingly full-sized blade.) This knife has no cut outs on the handle for your finger…if you want that get a Praxis. This isn’t a bushcrafting knife, it’s an elegant and incredibly functional piece of gear that is geared towards fashion more than crafting. Can you skin a deer with it? Yeah, totally. But you can do that with a rock on a bone handle. Take this one out to the club.

Probably the best folder for the money a knife guy could purchase. I have the mini praxis, ( my first Civivi). I started on the lower end price range to see what I thought. I like it a lot. Zero issues. I’ve owned it since March 2024. I liked it so much I went to a more expensive model. The elementum 2 as I wanted the button assist. This knife knocked it out of the park. I’ve owned many high end knives, but I prefer these gems. I’m on Amazon right now looking to purchase 1 maybe 2 more different model Civivi knives. I own an Opinel knife. I bought it on Amazon 5 years ago. I’ve never had to sharpen it. I can practically shave with it. Only issue is it’s too bulky with no clip. I also owner a Syderco. It’s a good knife, but my Civivi knives blow it out of the water. I have a Puma Skinner. Classy knife. I don’t know why they called it skinner. 5 minutes into skinning an elk, I throw it back into the pack and grab my cheaper MiniPraxis. It finishes the job. All in all, you can’t beat these Civivi knives. I haven’t noticed a fixed blade hunting knife. That would certainly find a top drawer space in my collection. Keep up the good work.

Coming from having carried a larger blade (3.62” blade) in my pocket for the last few years, I wasn’t too sure about the Elementum 2’s smaller size. I hemmed and hawed over it for a couple weeks, but something about the aesthetics of this knife kept me coming back and looking at it, so I pulled the trigger and took a risk. And man am I glad I did! The other reviewers aren’t kidding. This knife is impressively sharp, right out of the box. “Super slicy” is the term I keep hearing, and yeah, the Elementum 2 is exactly that. It slices through paper and cardboard like butter, with no signs of getting dull yet. Handle wise, I typically wear an XL in gloves, and the handle fits my grip perfectly. I can get a full four-finger grip on the handle just fine. I went with the blacked out G10 handle, and the texturing feels fantastic. Not so much that it’s abrasive in your hands, and not too little that it feels smooth. Civivi found that perfect middle ground for it. When I was reading through reviews and watching videos, everyone kept mentioning how “fidget friendly” this thing is. And my thinking was “A knife is a tool, not a toy.” Why would I care about the “fidget factor?” Well, after having carried this knife for a couple weeks, I totally get it now! Lol! The button lock makes this blade fun to flick open and closed. Super smooth action. No sticking. No hang ups. I am very impressed and have probably opened this blade more than any other blade I’ve owned. And circling back to that size, I gotta say I love having a lighter weight knife in my pocket. I barely even notice it’s there. My only real complaint is that I’m not so sure how well the black finish on the blade will hold up over time. It’s a flatter black, and doesn’t have that same level of polish and shine that other blacked-out blades have. But, it’s still very nice to look at. So overall, I think if you’re looking for a new EDC knife that looks as good as it performs, this is your blade and you won’t regret it. It’s super slicy. Has simple, yet beautiful aesthetics. It’s fun to use. And most importantly, it FEELS high quality. I think that’s the most important thing. The Civivi Elementum 2 doesn’t feel like a cheap blade. It’s very obvious, once you get it in your hands, just how high quality this thing is.

Great pocket knife! Surprisingly nice for the price. It stay sharp for quite a while and is very strong for a little knife. If you’re looking for a great knife without the premium price, I would recommend you buy it. It is a nice size and the handle feels good in your hand. I have pretty big hands and this knife feels comfortable. Good quality steel and the black matte finish is nice looking. The clip for your pocket is nice and convenient.

This is one of the most "Bang For Your Buck" knives on the market, Some of the things I like about it are as follows: It's just a hair under that three inch threshold, making it legal to carry in almost any jurisdiction. It has two opening methods, (the button and the flipper) The blade is a smooth flat grind, without any thumb studs, thumb holes or fullers. Nitro steel is a good step above the steel you get in most budget knives, and is comparable to S35-VN, (which Civivi also uses quite bit on many of their other affordable knives) The detent is just about perfect. Exerting very light pressure on the flipper tab is enough to smoothly deploy the blade. It has a true, deep carry pocket clip. It's hair popping sharp right out of the box. Many new knives in this price range often require a bit of work (usually stropping) in order to get them to this level of sharpness. Civivi is made by WE Knives, a more premium line, and the attention to detail shows in the fit and finish. This knife is also available (mostly on other websites) in even more premium configurations with lighter weight handle materials that get it down closer to "Benchmade Bugout" territory, but for the price of this knife I'm more than happy with the weight and traction of the fiberglass scales. If you're looking for an extremely sharp, 3" pocket knife that's easy to EDC, it doesn't get much better than this. One last benefit: At this price, you won't go into a state of clinical depression should you happen to lose it.

I have been a knife collector my entire life. I have very expensive knives, and I have very inexpensive knives. I was also a columnist for a knife-centered outdoor magazine. I like to think that I know knives and cutlery pretty well. That being said, I've been looking at this knife for a while now. Finally, I pulled the trigger, and I'm glad I did. The Elementum II is a budget friendly knife from Civivi, whose parent company is WE Knives out of China. WE is known as a premier brand, making excellent quality knives of all types, and using premium materials to do so. Civivi has been a very successful brand for them. Consistent quality and excellent workmanship are baked into the brand, and they are using very good steel in their offerings. The Elementum II uses Nitro V steel, which is better than D2, on par with AEB-L, and maybe just a hair under S30V. That puts it into the category of a very good quality steel for a mass-manufactured knife. Of course there are better steels from custom knife makers, but you'll pay ten times more for it. With the Elementum II, you get a 3" drop point blade, G-10 handle scales, a button lock, and a caged ceramic ball-bearing. When closed, the locking mechanism applies enough force to hold the blade closed without impeding the ability to open it using the flipper stud. The blade locks open securely. There is absolutely no play or give when it's locked open. It opens smoothly with a satisfying click. The tension on the button is just right, requiring enough pressure so that you won't accidentally press it when using it, but not so much pressure to close it that your thumb indents. The scales are very slightly rounded on the edges to give a very comfortable grip. The pocket clip is a deep-carry style and doesn't interfere with a tight grip on the knife. I chose the green scales with a black blade. The finish on the blade is excellent. There are no chips, streaks, or smudges. Mine had a very slight bit of oil near the pivot, which is exactly what you want to see. The bevel was perfectly even on both sides of the blade, and it came sharp enough to shave with. There is no writing or stamping on the blade or scales, save for a "C" embossed on the pivot pin. It has an overall clean look and a classic design. The weight is perfect. You feel it in your hand, but your pocket isn't weighed down by it. I would easily pay $150 for this knife and feel like I got a good deal. By way of comparison, the original Elementum had thinner scales and a liner lock instead of a button lock. I much prefer button locks. This just a homerun for Civivi. I look forward to reviewing more of their knives in the future. Note: I bought this knife with my own money, and no one asked me to write this review. I have never been in contact with the company.

This knife is a work horse, I use it heavily and it just shrugs off normal wear and tear. A solid EDC knife, a bargain at twice the price in my opinion. If you use your pocket knife a lot like I do, you will definitely appreciate this knife. Decent Steel, Hallow Grind, Button lock, Ceramic Bearings and priced very reasonably, honestly this knife is worth more than what they are asking for it. Deploys Fast and stows just as fast. Easy one hand operation. This knife replaced my Leek and I never looked back. I would even go so far to say that this knife will take the Pepsi challenge with a bugout any day. Nitro V - Pretty decent steel, holds a sharp edge well. Hallow Grind - Optimum blade geometry for an EDC in my opinion. Razor sharp right out of the box. Button Lock - Very well done. Placement of the button is perfect, and the button sticks up just enough to be easily actuated but is low enough to not get accidentally actuated, or get in the way, or snag on anything like clothing. Bearings - After opening and closing this knife a few times right out of the box, the bearings broke in and talk about smooth what seems like a near frictionless operation, I find myself just flipping this thing open and closing it often just to fidget with something. These bearings allow this knife to deploy faster than the eye. Hit the flipper and the blade is just there. faster than my spring assisted Leek. So those are just some of the Pros to be fair I should try to touch on the Cons as well. There is really only 1 con I can come up with, and it really only applies to lefty's. The deep carry pocket clip is not reversible. Why? I have no idea it literally makes no sense to me why they didn't add that functionality. That being said, it really isn't necessary, I've worn this knife as a lefty, and it is still easy 1 handed operation. I wouldn't even really call it an inconvenience for my left hand either. I'm a very right handed person. I can still deploy and operate this knife with the greatest of ease w/ my left hand. h If you are on the fence about purchasing this knife, just buy it. You won't be disappointed.

La elementum es una excelente navaja, además, en este acabado tipo damasco se ve realmente bonita, algo pesada. El único inconveniente es que su botonlock hay que apretarlo casi hasta el fondo, pero es cuestión de acostumbrarse. Gran filo y el tamaño perfecto para ser portada. Tiene el mismo tamaño que mi navaja Kershaw Monitor. El mecanismo de apertura y desbloqueo de la Kershaw es ligeramente mejor (en mi opinión). Recomiendo la elementum II más para presumir, si vas a usarla mucho, entonces recomiendo la elementum I.

Gran compra, muy buena calidad

Es exactamente lo que dice ser. Es un cuchillo con acero de damasco a un bajo precio. La navaja es buena pero le hacía falta filo, ya estando afilada es una locura el filo que pudo alcanzar y lo bien que lo retiene. El problema que tiene y que yo descubrí sobre el acero de Damasco es que se raya muy fácil y restaurarla a como salió de la caja es complicado, entonces si usas esta navaja para lo que es, dejará de verse nueva en pocos días. Aún asi estoy totalmente satisfecho, el mecanismo funciona muy bien y se puede operar con una mano sin mayor problema y la forma de la hoja es útil para lo que se te ocurra.
