Not too bad at all-Mossberg 500 Installation
First: I dislike when people say they'll update the review, and review was posted like 2 years ago. Maybe they never had issues, but I will update in the next week and coming months. I'll be taking it shooting this Friday, the 17th of Jan. Anyway, onto the side saddle on my '87 Mossberg 500A. Not a bad little side saddle. It is stiff as a card saddle, but not too stiff. Shell loops are generous but not loose, so it's not insanely difficult to get the shells into them. I always run, always have, my shells brass up in side saddles. It's not that I don't trust this one, I just don't trust any side saddle to actually hold shells under sustained 12 gauge recoil. That's a personal preference, not determined by quality of the product. I did cut velcro sections out to fit away from my trigger group takedown pin, and elevator pins. I did thoroughly wipe down the side of the gun with rubbing alcohol, and then acetone after. Once that had sat for a while, the product showed up and I carefully cut and installed my velcro. I say mine, as Installed my own soft velcro onto the receiver, keeping the velcro strip that came with it as a spare. I peeled a small section of the included velcro back, where I plan to cut it to custom fit the receiver as seen above, and it's quite the same tackiness and adhesive quality. No complaints. I love that it holds 7 shells for this model shotgun, as I can fit 7 Fed 00 buckshot in the tube, and 7 more go with the gun. I love that it is removable and the velcro is not noticeable unless up very close. I was leery about spending $25+ on metal mounted side saddles, as they can have issues. The price on this is excellent, all made in USA, and it's easily removed when desired. Metal side saddles, unless you spend some serious coin, can have issues, and once a screw strips or breaks, the side saddle just falls off. I kept the extra velcro in case I'm out shooting and the velcro adhesive fails while out shooting, I can simply replace it. Anyway, that's my long winded review. I say GET IT. I will be back to keep people updated, as I'm a fan of this product, and then testing comes next. We'll see how she holds up to 50 or 60 shells. Thanks!

Pretty good shotgun cards. Works well on my Mossberg 590A1
Not really sure what would make a "great" 5 star shotgun card, but these ones do the job on my Mossberg 590A1. The shell loops seem to be a little inconsistent between the seven (some are tighter than others), but they are all snug enough that they hold the shells very securely. What I really like about these cards in comparison to the hard, screw on ones, is that because I'm a lefty, the shell carrier always rode on my index finger knuckle and under recoil I had to be conscious of that. With these cards you can stick em on a little higher to eliminate that issue. I rated adhesion in the middle because while the hook to loop bond is very secure, the loop side that you stick to the shotgun has peeled back and I have to press it back on to the gun. I feel that I prepped the surface well enough, but maybe not? Worst case scenario I can always get replacement loop panels. One piece of advise: cut or notch the loop panel so it clears your trigger pin. That way when you clean your shotgun you can still knock out the pin without having to remove the Velcro panel. I have never tried the Esstac shell cards but I do have some AR500 Armor ones on order. I will check back when I get them for a comparison. Those ones are half the price, but I'm pretty sure they don't come with the loop Velcro panels though.

It works, but does has issues.
I wish I can make my review 3.5 stars...but Iโll give the manufacturer the benefit of the doubt for making a quality 7-shot card that is for the most part. I purchased 3 cards total. 1 of them I had to return because some loops I could not with even forcefully fit a shell in. The sewing was off and wouldnโt allow the shells on the end to fit at all no matter how hard I tried. I did keep 2 of them since I did try them and they did fit well and snug. The major problem that is overlooked by the manufacturer is the quality of the Velcro piece that sticks to the firearm. It came off and unglued within a week or so just sitting on my gun rack. I pulled the card off and both hook and loop were removed and the adhesive glue was still on the gun. I was def not happy about that at all, but I did purchase the good quality Velcro brand from Amazon for about 10 extra bucks. The quality is way better than what came with the shotgun card. The card itself is nice. So if you really want a 7-shot shell card then get it, but be prepared to purchase the better quality Velcro piece that sticks to the gun.

Great card for the price that does not warp
I have a number of 6-shell cards but wanted to try a 7-shell card for my incoming 1301 semi-auto, but threw it onto my 870 to see how it fits. This 7-shell card is considerably longer than my 6-shell cards, which are more compact in length, but it still fits on my 870 receiver perfectly. The main thing I like about this card is how rigid the backing is. A lot of the cheaper shotgun velcro cards on Amazon use a thinner backing, so when you load the shells it'll warp and not stick to the velcro securely. This card you can rip off and throw pre-loaded ones onto your shotgun receiver and they'll stick on there with a flat card surface every time. Because of this, and the price, I'm going to pick up a few extra 7-shell cards. Just a disclaimer - I'm not using the included adhesive velcro, but instead I have industrial strength loop velcro on my receiver that I got from Home Depot years ago, and it has never pealed up over the years in very hot or cold temps. So I can't say how the quality is with the included adhesive loop tape, but compared to my industrial strength loop tape it's a lot thinner looking. I personally wouldn't use it on my shotgun receivers. I'll see over time how the elastic holds up over time, but they're pretty tight initially so the shells aren't going anywhere.

Great option, regardless of budget
These are actually great. The velcro is good, the elastic has held up. I think I've had these two years now, and they still work just as well as they did out of the box.

Product works exactly as advertised
Shell card holds shells securely with even tension; although when the shell belt is empty the loops look uneven, it is because the fabric pitches in on directions or another; when loaded the stitching can be seen to be evenly spaced. The hook & loop is secure, and of good quality, but let the "soft" fabric you attach to your firearm secure/cure overnight before attaching the card, as it is important to let the adhesive "set up and cure"; as indicated per the good instructions.

Velcro shotgun shell holder
Not impressed with Velcro, would hardly stick at all on gun.

Fits shells securely
Liked that this item was as described. Was available for a legal product. Only issue is if you place velcro pad on side of armrest, it might be too wide it you have to take the item apart to clean. As per other reviews, I bought heavy duty velcro and will see if I can trim it so pad can stick, and still allow assembly of product
