Great Quality Cables from Noctua
I needed a Y splitter for my two NF-F12 fans that go on my NH-U12S Chromax (since it doesnt come with one!), and purchased these to resolve my problem. These are really good quality cables - the majority of the cable is braided, running to rubber sheaths that protect the cable near the plug socket. Yes, one of the plugs only has 3 pins, but this is because you cannot have both fans recording their RPM values in the bios when connected to the same header, only one fan can do this. Therefore, if you need to record the RPM of a certain fan, make sure you plug it into the plug with 4 pins. The 3 pin socket only drops the signal required for the motherboard to record the RPM of the fan, nothing else - both plugs are PWM and it is not 'false advertising' as one review suggested. The only thing i was slightly concerned about was their size - they are pretty small, however this wasn't a problem for me personally. I guess Noctua decided to go small as they already sell fan extension cables, so you could purchase one of those if you need to. In my case, the small size was perfect and made it super easy to cable manage. Overall, another high class Noctua product with great build quality.

Great item
Superb item, well engineered and you get 2 X Y splitter in the box. Well worth the money.

Splits Fan Headers
I like them. They’re a good quality braided cable. One header split into 2 so I replaced the hub I had and just plugged the 4 fans I have into these directly into the 2 system headers on my motherboard. Super simple and effective. Minimal fuss and overall they do the job that I needed them to do. I now have 100% control over the speed of my fans.

Nice cables
Very good quality cables, but a little stiff due to the rubbery cable sheathing near the ends. They are tad on the expensive side compared to other brands.

Did what it says on the tin. Works great.
Had to extend my NH-D15's cables around the back of my chassis for better cable management to the CPU FAN and PUMP FAN headers as the Y Splitter that came with the the NH-D15 wasn't drawing enough power to make both fans perform optimally from the single CPU FAN header. Not a point in having bad cable management when it's possible to get clean cables. Very flexible and well made - just what you'd expect from Noctua. Highly recommend if you need the extra length for better cable management in your rig.

Yes, one side of the "Y" only has 3 pins. No, that's not a problem...
I'm sitting here looking at reviews saying that it's "false advertising" that one side of the split only has 3 pins rather than 4, and rubbing my temples. One yells "false advertising"... another says you can't control the speed unless you have two fans connected to the splitter. For a start, why would you only connect one fan to a Y splitter? Secondly, if you did, it *would* let you control the speed. Connect it to the 4-pin side, obviously. The reason one side only has 3 pins is because you are controlling both fan speeds from one motherboard header and you cannot change them asymmetrically; they can only run at the same speed because they're being controlled from a single header. The pin that is missing from one side of the split is the one that carries the tachometric signal to report back from the fan to the fan controller/motherboard what speed the fan is currently running at... because you already know it's running at the same speed as the other fan, because they're controlled by the same PWM pin on the header, and that other fan will be reporting that speed from its tach pin. Anyway, these are pretty much perfect unless you hate the wee Noctua sticker tag that's on them or something. It's a simple cable that does what it should, there's not much to complain about here.
