The paper towels we purchased with it (which was recommended to go with) keep getting caught and are ripping. Are we doing something wrong?

Double check that you are not pinching the towels in between the front cover and the plate mounted to the wall. I had this issue a couple of times.

What is the best paper towel brand to use in this product?

Any brand works, we use the multifold napkins from Costco
