Review: No1 Times rated ! - Intelligence humour-A breath of fresh air Review: I would like to thank Stewart Lee for adding gravitas to my ... - As I protest against France's purge against the burkini on the 26th of August 2016, I decided to don a burkini in a 24-hour protest. By some conspiratorial fortuitousness Stewart Lee's book flopped through my letterbox. I made myself a cup of tea and my personal probe into my inner being began. Before I got beyond the forth page, much to my dismay; which is a slang term to criticise our current undemocratically elected prime minister , I had laughed myself to a point of incontinence. My now uncontrollable guffaw had met its match in a bout with the raging bull of uncontrollable bowel movements, while wearing a burkini. I am 7 hours into my protest so in 17 hours I will be able to remove this soiled garment, which I had carefully ironically ironed with Febreze before donning it. Therefore, I would like to thank Stewart Lee for adding gravitas to my cause, as not only will I become a martyr with what now has evolved into a hermetically sealed dirty protest, I will probably be the first person to have written a favourable review and had a fatwa issued against them since the halcyon days of Salman Rushdie. Those of you will recall he selflessly put his life in danger, not by writing The Satanic Verses, rather by despotically claiming the central booth on the noughts and crosses based quiz show Celebrity Square's. Now the burkini ban has been suspended, so I can continue my scatological protests in garments more becoming to a man of 49 years of age. Thank you very much indeed Mr Stewart Lee.

A missed opportunity at a lucrative film tie in, but a great stocking filler
Having purchased and almost finished reading Stewart Lee's latest publication "Content Provider", here's my review. I should also point out I attended a live performance of his recent theatre performance of "Content Provider", and additionally watched a recording of one of the live shows on the television. As I'm somewhat of an expert on the subject of Stewart Lee, 'Content Provider' I can confirm this is not a book of the aforementioned show. Rather, Stewart Lee's latest book is little more than a collection his previous cannon of paid for prose from the liberal left wing media. At times merely entertaining, it is nether the less a Now Thats What I Call Stewart Lee in book form. On the plus side, I picked up my copy for only £2.75 so I doubt there'll be much in the way of loyalties lining the long pockets of Mr Lees trademark hipster black Lee jeans. It's also an ideal Christmas stocking filler, and one I'll delight in sharing with many close friends and family if only to record their attempts at the perfect "Oh this is JUST what I wanted. I used to like Stewart Lee when he was popular!" reactions on my new Iphone X, which I'll then share with my 7 Snapchat followers. 5 stars.

Funny, smart
Funny, smart, and incisive. Stewart Lee injects some much needed absurdity into political and social matters – and by doing so lays bare the absurditiy that was in them from the start. I love how he doesn't shy away from some more scatological humour as well. It mixes with politics very well.

I love everything this man does
I love everything this man does, but this was a bit hard going for me. Maybe due to my extreme old age (I'm 51) so can't blame The Leester. Give it a go. You are probably smarter than me, or younger which is somewhat the same. There is a bit of like to add here but can't.

A fantastic book by a very funny and talented comedian. I’ve been a huge fan since the early 90s and this is a much have for any fan’s bookcase.

I think Stewart Lee is the funniest stand-up comedian of the moment, and this compilation of his writings over a period of 5 years shows the same kind of parody/irony/meta-humour which makes his stage performances so thrilling. Highly recommended!

This is a great toilet book! I've had diarrhea for a week and I just can't put it down!

Decent read, has a couple pieces I hadn't read before and the inclusion of reader comments is almost an artistic enterprise in itself, but I imagine you'll feel like you've wasted your money if you read all of Stew's columns online.
