Is this product organic?

That answer depends on what definition of organic you are using. Organic in that it comes from nature and is not made from components of a chemical laboratory - yes, then it's definitely organic. If you mean the organic that comes with certifications, no it's not organic. Bee's are going to do bee things and given their size it's mighty tough to leash them or keep them contained and still allow them to access the nature that they need to do their bee things. Bees also tend not to stop and analyze whether a plant is being organically grown prior to collecting the pollen from said plant so in that regard there's no way to consider this an organic product.

Is this supposed to smell absolutely horrid?

No, it’s made from tree resins and other natural ingredients. It might smell like something natural but should not reek or smell spoiled.
