Gingko Design Alarm Clock, Wood, Black, One size GK08B10

Anyone looking for a clock like this may be bewildered by the number of apparently identical objects on Amazon, but having read the reviews of the others, my advice is to buy the Gingko, even though it's a bit more expensive. The finish is fine and the instructions extremely clear. These also make it clear that batteries should be used only if you don't want the clock to display all the time (which I don't - I just want something which I can tap to show the time if I wake up in the night). Otherwise you can use the USB which is helpfully provided. This is a really neat and stylish little object.

For what I paid, i.e. £25, I naively thought this was going to be made out of real wood but it is just a box made from MDF inside a cheap plastic casing. That’ll teach me not to read the description carefully! It looks and feels cheap and the battery compartment does not even fit properly. Not sure yet if I can be bothered to return it. Update I did return this item. The back did not sit well without batteries but when I did put some in it would not stay in place at all.

A great bedside clock, looks smart and I’m really pleased with it. Buttons at the back are slightly fiddly but otherwise it is great!

We've now had four of these - my husband and I having both replaced our first ones after about 4 years. My second one failed in under two years. His is still going. For what they are, they are expensive, especially given their failure rate. Having said that, they are lovely things and to have the display so bright and easy to read at just a touch or loud(ish) noise is perfect. Means you don't have to put up with the constant glare of a clock all night. We LOVE the item but just wish it was much better quality.

This is exactly what I wanted, a little clock that would sit on my bedside table and not take up too much room. I think I read another reviewer that said it wasn't very bright? Mine is perfect, the blue LED is beautifully bright! My only critique is that it would have been nice if the USB cable was black to match the device rather than white.

The Cube Alarm Clock Arrived and The Postage Charges Were Nearly Half Of The Purchase Price Of The Item!!! Installed The Batteries - It Did Not Work, Plugged It To The Electrical Outlet - Worked Only For about Half an Hour and No Matter What You Did To It, It Just Would Not Work Or Show The Time - Spoke To The Original Seller Lights and Linen and They Told Us To Return The Clock Back To Them And If It is Really Defective, They Would Issue Me With a Full Refund. My Wife Paid 9.80 Euros To Ship It Back To Lights and Linen - Have Not Had Any Acknowledgement Of Receipt From Them Neither A Refund - I Feel I Have Been Ripped Off - The Clock Is Beautiful But If It Does Not Work Then To Me It Is A Piece Of Junk!!!! Still Waiting For A Refund - VERY VERY DISAPPOINTED WITH LIGHTS AND LINEN!!!!

As per other reviews, terrific product that allows complete darkness throughout the night, but allows a peek at the time by an effortless tap on the clock itself. Or you can play with it during the day by clapping loudly from the other side of the room!

I don't like any light in my bedroom, so the fact that this clock turns off completely, is great. When I first saw it, my first thought was that it looked exactly like something out of Dr Who! I've had it for a few months now, and it is still working well. The one downside is that is isn't very sensitive when it comes to making a noise to turn on the display. Trying to whack it in the middle of the night without waking my husband is a bit of an art. I have seen other clocks of this type which are much more sensitive to sound and movement. But I suppose that is a mixed blessing. If it was too sensitive, then it would light up every time that him indoors snored and then I would get no sleep because of the light - strangely I can sleep through noise, but not light!
