Finally
My mother in Germany used this coffee. She made the best cup of coffee ever . I could not brew a single good cup of coffee in the USA .I have tried every American coffee there is and actually wondered if my tastebuds had changed I Every morning I would tell my husband (not a coffee drinker ) how bad the coffee was. I tried every method of coffee brewing, but to no awail, it was always disappointing ! So after living here for over 50 years , I found Jacob's kronung on Amazon , just by accident . I almost cried ! It never occurred to me to search for it there,, after all it is German Coffee ! All these years of drinking lousy coffee-well they are over and done with . At least I have a few (very few) years left to look forward to my next cup of excellent, non bitter, non acid , coffee, Hallelujah ! Thank you Amazon !

Great coffee beans but they are pricey
Nice bold flavor but the price has increased significantly since I last purchased it. If the price doesn’t come down a bit, I’ll try a different brand. Hence, only 4 stars.

Blend of Arabica and Robusta beans is mild
Recently I was trying a list of different coffee brands. I came across the Dallmayr Caffe Crema Forte and find their blend of Arabica and Robusta beans quite nice. I was curious to know if another German brand would be similar. No. Between Jacobs and Dallmayr, I prefer Dallmayr. It's not so much I enjoy it as it is vs. it smooths everything out with other blends. I tried to do that with the Jacobs and it is not the same. Both I tried black, with sugar, milk, combo and blended with other coffee. Jacobs doesn't have the je ne sais quoi I was hoping for. I'm sure if anyone likes it espresso style or another way, either one can deliver the mild taste. I would lean more towards Dallmayr. These brands have been around for a few generations. The older generations are more used to them. It's similar to the idea of Folgers in the states, but taste better than that. Since Germany drinks quite a bit of coffee compared to their neighbors, I'm sure they have a good formula for every other brand. If this brand is offered to me for half the price, I still would not buy again. Not bad. Just not the same enjoyment as it is or blended with other coffees. When it doesn't stand out either way, the price does not make much difference. In ways, the price is higher than it should be for lacking in taste. Understand the price is higher due to it coming from abroad. I was hoping this be similar to Dallmayr, but no. I'm more curious to try every other one by Dallmayr. It's the only brand that has me curious out of the long list. Not even trying to be brand specific vs. find a good coffee. Anyone that wants smooth and mild, the German coffees are known for that. Italy makes it intense with their blends. Definitely smell the difference if you have the Caffe Barbera 1870 brand made in Italy that has the combo of Brazil and Indonesia beans vs. the German brands. If you blend the 2 together, it balances out nicely with a 1:2 ratio. Italian : German Mix that with soy or any milk of your choice with the natural sweetness and a hint of sugar or honey and it gives a nice, smooth all around texture and flavor. Anyone that prefers a more mild, low acidity, not the intense aroma for a coffee, the German ones are good. Even if you get a medium roast for both German and Italian made, the Italian will have more intensity in general. They blend the 2 types of beans to balance, but still it's more intense.

Great great coffee!
The best coffee we’ve ever had. Too bad it costs almost twice as much as our usual brand, but once in a while, definitely worth the splurge!
