My wife received the book as a present for Christmas as she likes to paint old furniture and revitalise and make them look a million times better. It gives you a good insight on how to do certain things to make furniture look old and yet give them a new lease of life,Also the different techniques are easy to understand .

Ideas to inspire
If you like up-cycling old furniture, picture frames, mirrors etc. this book is a must. Apart from all sorts of ideas. it contains step by step instructions and lots of pictures to guide you through the process. The projects are based upon the use of Annie Sloan paint, which is wonderful stuff. I have already updated two bedside tables and some garden furniture. They look great, and now I keep looking around for other things to paint!

easy reading. great ideas for the novice painter to the more complicated stuff towards the end of the book
Went on an Annie Sloan painting course and found this book to compliment the skills I had picked up. I had just bought a small cottage and we had a limited budget for furnishings. I bought a lot of tatty pieces of furniture and with the help of this book made the pieces look great. So delighted with my new skills.

Upcyclers must-have book
This book is well worth having around the home. You can easily change and revamp tired old furniture items to adorn your home-or make them over and sell them on, as painted furniture is BIG at the moment. I would recommend this to anyone who has the time to give it a go. Beautifully illustrated and easy to follow, this book inspires you to have a go. Perfect!

Some good effects, but only covers half the process (and avoids the preparation)
The book has some lovely and interesting and inspirational effects techniques. There is, however, next to nothing about how to prepare furniture in the first place, such as stripping old varnishes, sanding down etc. and so it feels like it only does half the process. If I was to buy a second hand piece of furniture I'd most likely have to you-tube instructions or find another book to get me to the stage where I was ready to pick up this one. Also, she concentrates on using her own range of furniture paints and varnishes/waxes and gives very little direction as to what to look for and what else would be suitable if you were to use other products. I will definitely try some of the suggestions in the book, and it does have some inspirational ideas, but it is not a one-stop-information-shop which some total beginners would need.

Very good starting book which will give you a good foundation for your chalk paint projects. Please note as Annie Sloan is the authoress, so she only uses her own range of products and you have to research equivalence in other brands if not available in your area.

Arrivato molto tempo prima del previsto. Libro usato ma in ottime condizioni. Libro ricco di immagini descrittive che aiutano ad eseguire passo a passo o vari lavori. Consigliatissimo.

This is a fast read and a good exposure for a newbie like me to chalk paint and applications. I wish she would have included actual chip samples of all her paints and waxes. Her projects were varied enough and her instructions detailed enough for an intermediate renovater like me. I found the book helpful, well illustrated and of high quality print and editing.

so excited, as here in Australia Annie Sloan products are expensive and the books are $25,-$30 so this was my first investment online. The book is great along with the option of viewing online to minimise costs. Best of all the book is downloaded within minutes of purchasing.

Ich kann den vorherigen Rezensenten nur beipflichten. Das Buch ist - trotz englischer Sprache - leicht zu verstehen. Man findet viele Tipps und Tricks für die Verschönerung alter Möbel.
