Review: Sumptuous Luxury at a Budget price - Well. WOW. These Beyers are the absolute dogs....... I have owned many more expensive headphones from Sennheiser,Sony etc which are just not in the same league as far as I am concerned and having owned previously some DT770 which broke but I loved I thought I would get another pair from them and I am absolutely delighted I did. The open back gives a feeling of having your speakers right on your ears. I couldn't remember the 770s giving this amount of detail. These have just the correct amount of bass, treble and midrange whatever music you throw at them and they are by far the comfiest headphones I have ever owned or tried. Well worth the £134 I paid (I went for the edition version as all reviews I read said they were the comfiest for home use whereas the pro version was better for studios) and the 32ohm version so I could use them comfortably with my portable devices,although they are just as good with my main hi fi equipment. Honestly, they are a fantastic bit of kit and rightly deserved of all the great reviews of them. Buy, you will not be disappointed !!!

I read numerous reviews, was looking for comfortable pair of headphones with excellent sound quality, with more soft sound which is easy to listen to. Beyerdynamic DT 990 Edition 32 Ohm fits the bill perfectly. I was bit afraid that they will be too analytical and too sharp, but paired with my sound card they sound really nice. I'm listening all sort of musics, from classical, through blues and jazz to rock, heavy rock and metal. They are better for classical and jazz music though, there are better headphones for heavy metal, but these ones sound exactly like I like. Also good for watching movies. You can wear them for couple hours and your ears will not be in pain or bleeding. I'm very happy with the purchase so far.

**Q: Is the cable detachable and how long is it?**
A: No it isn't detachable and it's 3 m long and a straight cable (Pro has a 3 m coiled cable)

**Q: Would both Denon and Marantz mini systems, rated 30 W per channel be powerful enough to drive the 250 ohm version?**
A: Mine is 32 ohm version, working on portable device perfectly. I think you should plug the 250 ohm version into the earphone jack of your mini system.

**Q: How is the bass?**
A: The bass is fairly flat compared to the source recording. These are monitor headphones. The frequency response is fantastic but getting this response to actually play out is rather challenging due to high ohm requirement. So you'll need a good source and a strong, high ohm amplifier for these phones.

**Q: Hello ,i have a musical fidelity x can headphone amp ,would it be compatable with these headphones ?**
A: I'm not sure but you may find it hard to drive these head phones. I looked online and I could not find any headphone output rating for the item. It just says 100mW into 40 ohms....s/n ratio is low so I would say u would need a 32ohm pair to get them to be driven well. Best thing you can do is try a pair and send them back if you can not get a decent volume and detail out of them. Good luck... ; )

Well. WOW. These Beyers are the absolute dogs....... I have owned many more expensive headphones from Sennheiser,Sony etc which are just not in the same league as far as I am concerned and having owned previously some DT770 which broke but I loved I thought I would get another pair from them and I am absolutely delighted I did. The open back gives a feeling of having your speakers right on your ears. I couldn't remember the 770s giving this amount of detail. These have just the correct amount of bass, treble and midrange whatever music you throw at them and they are by far the comfiest headphones I have ever owned or tried.
