LOCTITE 577, Medium Strength Industrial Adhesive for Thread Sealing, Universal Liquid Adhesive for Pipes and Metal Threads, Chemically Resistant Thread Sealant, 50ml

Absolutely fantastic stuff. Replaced two taps but the threads on the bracket meant they were horizontal when tightened up so I had to back them of 3/4 and of course they leaked. I tried fibre washers and PTFE to no avail but googled and found this stuff. It works brilliantly. My first attempt failed as I had not made sure enough of the thread was coated but the second attempt and second tap have been good for months.

so i work on steam heated industrial washers and dryers and got fed up with ptfe tape being a pain to apply or it failing on the first week.. this stuff is easy to apply and sets almost right away ,can handle the high temps from steam and holds the joint perfectly.. and u can still remove the threaded joint and easy to clean off.. great on any compression olive fittings... its a little expensive but then so would having to restart the whole job a week later. its never failed to do the job..

I purchased this Loctite 577 to add to my plumbing accessories collection. I have not used it yet, although the price was competitive and the delivery very good

I have always used PTFE tape on radiator threads but this is easier and quicker to apply and so far after maybe 20 fittings has been 100% effective. It is quite expensive but if it saves the time fixing the occasional leak or getting a call back it is well worth it.

I used this to seal connections on my air hose after repeated failed attempts with PTFE tape, and I have to say that it worked like a charm. Just apply a single bead of glue to the thread and its ready to use after 24 hours. My only gripe is that you get a lot of glue in the tube for £20, and its not something that I'd use that often, so I think that they should dispense this in smaller tubes as It will probably go to waste. Update: Actually, I've just seen a smaller and cheaper tube called Loctite 542 for fine threads, perhaps I should have used that instead ? In any case, my existing connectors are still holding up fine.
