Luigi Bormioli Top Class Double Old-Fashioned Glasses, 12.25 Oz - Set of 6

Update 1/6/2016: I chipped one of my original glasses, so I reordered some more. As I took them out of the box I noticed that they felt heavier than the ones I use every day. I weighed the ones I bought in 2013 against these new ones with my Ozeri digital kitchen scale, and my suspicion was confirmed. The new glasses have an average weight of 190 grams, while the glasses from 2013 have an average weight of 164 grams. Upon closer inspection the bottom of the glass is thicker around the rim, and the side walls of the glass are ever so slightly thicker, maybe 1 or 2 mm. I don't have my calipers handy for a measurement, but the difference is noticeable when feeling the old and the new with my fingers. If I didn't have them side by side, and if I didn't use them regularly, I probably wouldn't notice the difference. I am not aware of a comparable glass to this one, and they're still very nice so I'll keep them. However, I wish the manufacturer would not have changed the product. I'd rather have the thinner, more delicate ones. Original review 11/15/2013: Thin-walled glasses are very elegant on the table and they feel great in my hand. They make everything I drink out of them taste better. Crazy, right? It's like wine glasses in that regard; my brain tells me there's no way the wall thickness of a glass makes the liquid more enjoyable. The tactile feedback from my lips and hands tells me otherwise. I saw these in a restaurant and liked them so much I asked the bartender what they were, and immediately bought a set when I got home. These ones are the "short" version of the three Top Class options. Perfect for any drink that calls for an old fashioned glass. The only downside is that, because they are so thin, they are easy to break. Treat them with care.

These things are amazing. Paper thin to the point they almost feel like plastic in the hand, they seem so fragile but they are NOT! Last night I knocked one out of the top shelf of top kitchen cabinet, it bounced numerous times off the granite countertop, then into the stainless sink, without ANY damage. Unbelievably durable. I need to try their other products.

Nice and light feel, superior quality, classy and clean glasses. The thin walls and thin bottom make them feel nice to hold and drink from.

These glasses are great aesthetically. They are modern and minimal and have a nice even weight. Their main flaw is that they do not hold up well in the dishwasher. I have had my set for a little over 18 months and most of them have accumulated a chip or two on the rim. I am not too upset about this though because they are my everyday glasses and they get washed constantly. Also, the price is fair, so you can always buy a replacement set.

Have had dozens of different Bormioli stemware and have always been satisfied. They are very durable for how thin the glass is, are beautifully designed and last. Bormioli anytime for everyday use - some of the designs are even virtually identical to Orrefors Crystal and other high-end crystal stemware. These specific glasses are an elegant alternative to traditional tumblers and the minimalist design has the appeal of high-end laboratory beakers, pleasing anybody with a science background or interest.

At first glance and feel, these glasses feel like high end, quality glasses! Way higher quality than the price! They are incredibly light. A but thin at the rim but hoping that they will be hearty and will resist cracking and breaking easily.

We experienced these glasses at a michelin 3 star restaurant in Rome - they are unusual in that they don't have a thick base. The glass thickness is the same on the sides as it is on the bottom. It makes for a very elegant experience, especially when serving cocktails. If you like a very thin feel on your lips this is the glass for you.

The look was good but the walls of the glasses was to thin. I was afraid they would break so I returned mine.

Beautiful glasses

Seen these at a posh restaurant in central Rome and asked waiter for brand which he game me. Really beautiful glasses, too thin for whisky and too brittle for kids or even a rushed dishwasher load but thats the price you pay for elegance.

We had cocktails in these in a bar in Ottawa and went looking for them. Thankfully we found them in Amazon - extremely light and beautiful cocktail glassware.
