New Built-Ins Idea Book (Taunton Home Idea Books)

Received in excellent condition. I loved that I could see inside the book before purchasing. I would recommend this book for homeowners, contractors and anyone looking for great ideas for indoor space. The ideas in the book provided a great way to organize space, get great looking extra storage and I can alter the design according to its function in all the main areas of our home.

The author presents ideas for adding storage and use to every place in one's home, from the bathroom and kitchen, to the hallways and laundry areas--all shown through great photography. A lot of the ideas are for homes that obviously do not need extra storage, but most of the ideas, or at least something from each section, can be adapted to small-to-medium sized homes. The book is good, not just for your next home, but will give you ideas for simple, attractive storage in your present home. For how to actually create the items, you will need to look elsewhere.

My company designs, manufactures and installs built in storage/furniture like the ones in this book. It's a fabulous resource book that gives a wide range of ideas for challenging spaces and innovative solutions. I would highly recommend this to anyone who is interested in beautiful, functional storage units. It covers a wide range of material options as well as contemporary to traditional inspiration. A great reference book!

This book is exactly as the title states an idea book You Will Not Find How TO's On How To construct Built In's this is not a guide but you will find cool ideas if your thinking about creating a space

I expected there to be something more than just pictures.Maybe even just use this type of a hinge create a flush fit cabinet door.But it's just photos of stuff that don't show any details. The pictures only show everything with all the doors and drawers closed.Not worth paying for.

I haven't put any of these ideas into practice (yet), but it's a fun book to return to again and again. The pictures are great, but it's not just pictures - it tells you how to do these projects too. Lots of wonderful ideas! I thought this book was worth the money to purchase it.

I love buying picture books from which to glean ideas. The pictures in this book are lovely and high quality, BUT they do not picture very many creative built-ins. I was expecting lots of pictures of creative nooks and crannies to incorporate in my future building plans. I was not impressed when I saw repetitive ideas (yes, a built in hutch in the dining room is nice, but not creative). I'd say from the entire book I found 3 or 4 pictures of built-ins that I'd actually like to duplicate. I will most likely be re-selling the book.

I found this book to be very useful. Yes, some of the pictures have been used in other products, but that's to be expected in such a comprehensive series as Taunton's range of books. No big deal. In a few of the pictures, it is obvious that the pictures have been blown up electronically, and the quality suffers a little (such as on pages 14 and 28). The content for utility areas is a little "light on" but there is plenty for nearly every other area of the house.I purchased my copy "new" through Amazon. It arrived well-packed, with the rear cover cut and the book marked as a "second" (the black felt-tip marker line across the top of the book). Amazon failed to respond to my complaint. No other book in that order was damaged.
