The settings allow us to not even think about them when we're home but depend on them when we're out. Our phones 'ding' when a door opens. That's all I want to know. If we're camping I hear that ding and look on my phone and see where the disturbance is. I have it said that I would call the police not automatically. I can follow the sequence of disturbances and look at the cameras on my phone. If need be I press the button on the screen and notify the police. **Q: does Ooma charge a monthly fee for the sensor service?** A: I pay about $4.78 per month for the phone line. There is no other charge, other than the cost of the sensor. Mine is just a motion detector, I don't have the door or window detectors. **Q: Can these be painted?** A: You could paint them but it would complicate opening it up to replace the batteries. **Q: The door \ Window sensors look big...can you pain them?** A: The sensor for the security portion is large I'm my opinion. You can paint them so they blend better ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ It is relatively easy to install *by M***N on November 15, 2017* It is relatively easy to install. I added it to my kitchen door in a matter of minutes. However, the space between the two sensors is extremely tight as compared to my original system that I replaced. It works like a charm. The Ooma security system is far easier and more intuitive than my former paid alarm monitoring service. If the door is open, I am called on my home and cell phone. In addition, the app allows me to call 911 by press a single button. ### ⭐ Don't buy yet. Too many glitches for new product. *by J***M on November 15, 2017* I really like it at first and was working fine. I think the product was brought up too quickly. Hopefully they can fix the glitches. The tamper warning keeps and the low battery warning keeps going off. I replaced the batteries 3 times after using for 3 months.
