I recently purchased this battery but when i boot up i get an error saying it is not supported. i have a lenovo thinkpad w540

We experienced the similar issue on a Lenovo Thinkpad. Apparently, Lenovo is embedding a chip in the laptops that confirms that their batteries are compatible with the newest standard. Anyhow, we just ignored the message and the battery has been working fine.

My current battery # for lenovo thinkpad w541 is 45n1779. i see this battery lists as comparable. can you confirm?

I cannot as mine is 540P. I would try searching on the 45n1779 or the part number.

How long is the warranty? I purchased this battery on 9-Sep-2019 and it failed today (29-May-2020) after 8 months.
