Work Well
Forget trying to use a silicone brush or one made with polyester hairs as they will melt when used on heated grills. These are perfect for use on Takoyaki, Teppanyaki or Taiyaki molds or flat grills that require oil to applied into small crevices.

I can't live without this thing!
I LOVE this thing. I give them out as gifts now! I cook with a lot of cast iron, and to keep a season going I spread a fine sheen of oil over the surface and heat it after each rinse. This thing is perfect for that. I spread the oil around with the brush bristles fully retracted, and then I extend them to mop up any excess oil. I've had it for years and it's held up great! I like that there's no plastic involved and the form-factor feels good in the hand. Such a simple thing, but it feels indispensable to me now!

Very cool item
I really like this for my cast iron and Japanese Nakayoki pan. Just not sure how long it will last. But nevertheless very cool item and usefull

99cents quality but it DOES the job...Do not wash it!!!
It’s something you find in the 100 Yen shop (Dollar store), so the quality is 99cents. But the very good one I had which I bought in Japan (cost me $10) worn out and I really needed something similar. I had to pay 5 times more for smaller, a bit flimsy brush but it does the job. Cheaper than traveling to Japan. I love the cotton threads because it really spreads oils evenly by absorbing the excess oil. I use this for my waffle maker a lot. I do not like the silicon ones because of the plastic smell and they do not spread evenly. I believe you are not supposed to wash this...just replace it to a new one when it gets old.

Fulfills its purpose but also absorbs oil due to wooden handle
Works just fine as an oil spreader. Not a big fan of the metal collar because it does not do a great job of squeezing out excess oil, sometimes the strings get caught in the latch, and the edge is a bit sharpish. Since the handle is unfinished wood, the handle also absorbs the oil you're using, which will go rancid eventually if it's cooking oil.

I use this more than I had expected
I purchased this brush primarily for making takoyaki, but I find myself keeping it by the stove so I can use it almost daily. It's a convenient way to lightly oil pans for frying up eggs or other foods that don't need a lot of oil/fat. I've also used it to grease pans prior to baking crumb cakes, cupcakes and muffins. It doesn't feel very durable, but it's held up to nearly daily use for almost two months now. UPDATE: it’s been three years and I’m buying a new one. My first one just got way too gunky to clean. So anyone who has reservations about buying this because of durability concerns should have those assuaged by knowing how long and useful this tool has proven to be.

good butter baster
This takoyaki oil brush really soaks up liquid for basting, so I can butter-baste a pan of biscuits in no time. I bought two-one for butter and one for oil or bbq because I hot rinse, wipe, and freeze in a ziplock to avoid it falling apart by washing as reviewers say. It's way better for basting than the plastic basters. I can lightly oil a pan without mess. Satisfied.

Goood
Good for application of oils

I don't recommend this Oil Brush. The main issue is that the brush material comes out during use. Save your money and look for a better-quality oil brush elsewhere.

Not so easy to twist or apply. Maybe easier using kitchen towel

I thought something this expensive would be a bit more polished and have better quality control. The steel ring part is too loose, and too big on the wooden stick even at first glance, it is not a good fit. the wood part is not polished or treated with barely any wood finishing, feels like they just used it straight away after cutting the wood. I have yet to use the brush for actual practical use yet but from the look of the product, it is to say I am very disappointed. I will update the review after I used the product if the product does its job well, then I think it can be a 4 star review.
