Yes it is ideal for this, just give the lawn a light rake over befor applying and if it gets dry again remember to water

Q: Is there a particular time of year the seed product needs to be applied?

Generally you would use grass seed when you can see your own grasses or your neighbours growing. Seed needs moisture (not wet) and sunshine. Spring through to early October. If you are seeding a large patch create a seed bed by loosening the soil and then firming it down (heal it in) then loosen the surface and broadcast the seed. I did this on a large patch in the middle of last summer and watered it in, every day when it was dry. The result was superb within two weeks. Happy gardening.

Q: Does this mix contain Ryegrass ?

Further to my other answer Yes it contains 30% perennial ryegrass-Platinum 40% strong creeping red fescue-Rossinante 30% perennial ryegrass-BerliozRyegrass BUT. BEWARE....none of the seeds will germinate from my experience, and I have had 4 x 1kg bags with three different batch numbers! ALL DEAD

Mine grew well in shade.. the winter hasn't been kind but I know that spring is just around the corner..
