'This book is bloody brilliant'V.E Schwab From the SUNDAY TIMES bestselling and award-winning author of the Nevernight Chronicle, comes this masterful new series. Featuring the darkly beautiful illustrations of Bon Orthwick (@monolimeart) Review: Got me out my book slump - I got 3-4 books before this but none i could able to finish. I was in a major slump and this took me out of it to a different world. Authors narration is immersive, cozy and atmospheric. Excellent characters. One of the best reads of this year. Review: Go for it!!! - Worth the price..god quality pages and binding

A Must Read Grimdark
I will begin by saying that this is absolutely my type of book. I started this trilogy late, not because I had doubt. But because I was not willing to commit to a trilogy... I am glad that I finally picked it up. If you like grimdark, if you like vampires, if you like a world imprisoned by darkness, without any hesitation, go for this one. The story begins with Gabriel telling his story, a little like The Name of the Wind. But the similarity ends there and you will never think of that world while reading this. Beautiful prose, a little gritty at times, and flawed characters, a must try recipe for grimdark fans.

This is a TRADE PAPERBACK! 😭❤️
I am so frigging goddamnn happy with this book 😭. It's been ages since I have had my hands around an adult fantasy paperback that's floppyyyy!! My soul is singing and I have been blessed. This is a Trade paperback version, which means, it's fairly big in size and the font is bigger also, it's floppy! Get it if you can before they run out of print and start releasing the brick paperbacks that are so stiff you can't even open them. Super happy with this!

Great book
First of all I got it because it was on special and I had heard the second book was coming out 2024 and Mike’s reviews on YouTube was giving it high praise. Started reading it and just kept going! I never liked vampire books but this was perfect for me. Can’t wait to read the next book

JUST. READ. THIS.
The sun has dimmed to such a degree that vampires can roam the earth freely, an uncontrollable infestation. Gabriel de León is the last living Silversaint, a vampire hunter. Unfortunately, he’s been captured by the very creatures he kills and they want the story of his life, every gory detail. Because they’re after the Holy Grail, and they know Gabriel can lead them to it. 7 Reasons to Read: 🍷 Complex storytelling. There's basically three interwoven stories going: Gabriel's interview/confessional in the present; his reluctant-protector quest 3 years earlier; and his coming-of-age story 17 years before the present. 🍷 Yummy morality queries such as: Are the religious order of Silversaints really doing God’s work, or are they just as base and corrupt as the vampires they hunt? Does God even care anyway? 🍷 Flawed, sardonic, morally-gray characters that you can't resist getting attached to. 🍷 Legit dark, powerful, and dangerous vampires. Like—run away. Really. 🍷 The sharpest dialogue and most creative cussing. 🍷 Every emotion in existence is in this book. 🍷 Oooh, hawt 🌶️ scenes! Kristoff is an eloquent writer and storyteller with an ear and eye for artistry. Example: “Luminous flowers of maryswort. Long, strangling tendrils of asphyxia. Bloated pustules of beggarbelly and jagged, crawling runs of shadespine. These were the new sovereigns of the forest, the grand lords of decay, building castles on the rotting tombs of the kings who'd come before.” 👆That is fungus growth habits being given characterization! I hate mushrooms, but that's just beautiful. I have no criticisms worth noting. This is just incredible insanity.

Just brilliant!!!! For more book review, follow me @a_court_of_reads in Instagram.
Empire of the Vampire is, just the beginning. This book is absolutely bloody brilliant. Three words: Fcking Read It !!!! The story spirals around the Vampires and Vampire hunters. The story is dark, horror-stricken, ghastly with despair but in a good way. Our protagonist Gabriel de Leon who is pale blood and a Silversaint is ferociously savage, witty, bitter, and devilishly brave. The journey throughout the book takes us through a whirlwind of emotions. It revolves around family, love, lust, pain, despair, faith, vengeance, and war. Literally got Lannister vibes with the Forever King and his children, who are utterly brutal to the core and terrifying making it up for the perfect antagonist. The world-building is extraordinarily clever when detailing the intricacies of the vampire houses, legacies, and powers. Gabriel's IDGAF attitude is prevalent throughout the book. All the characters are well crafted, some of my other favorites are the rival Aron de Coste, master Greyhand, holy sister Astrid and enigma Dior. And sweet Ashdrinker(read the book to find out who he is!!) With being said in the present-day storyline, there are also two past timelines that make it interesting for the whole evolution of the story. One of the past is Gabe's teenage years with his relationship with his family and the threat of the vampire empire. Second, of the past, being somewhat in his thirties where Gabriel is lifeless and an addict whose deeds are spoken as tales of legends. The scenes are descriptive enough for an adrenaline-fuelling feel. Literal chills when finishing the book as it felt like I saw an epic high fantasy movie that leaves you with so many mysteries and questions to solve. There is a lot to devour in this Kristoff's horror-binding, vampire-laden epic high fantasy. It is well articulated, compendious, crisply declamatory, and eloquently literary.
