Product Description Family sports comedy, starring Will Ferrell. Phil Weston (Ferrell) has long had to put up with his own father Buck's (Robert Duvall) competitive and overbearing nature. But when Phil's son joins a Little League football team, Phil finds that his own competitive nature hasn't been buried as well as he thought, and it gets worse when he learns that Buck has decided to coach a rival team. When Buck trades his own grandson to a real loser of a little league soccer team, Phil naturally takes over underdog coaching duties and the two men butt heads. You could easily, and perhaps rightfully, dismiss all of this as a dumb, demented Meatballs or Bad News Bears rip-off, but it's pleasantly dumb and sometimes hysterically demented: Encouraged by his neighbor, ex-Chicago Bears coach Mike Ditka (yes, playing himself), Phil stops his vitamin regimen and becomes wildly addicted to regular doses of caffeine, which turns him into a monster of a team leader. In addition to Ferrell, Duvall does a doozy of a comic riff on his Great Santini role, and even Ditka is unexpectedly funny. This film is good and funny. Critics are bad and boring.
I had a LOL moment several times.It's happening not often.Don't care about critics scoring this movie.They're film addicts, who watched too many movies and they're always unhappy.

just another classic will ferrell movie..
I love will ferrell in movies think he is really funny, in things such as the other guys and the anchorman, Looked at this on amazon and was curious as to how this would be as its a PG.... however its just like the others, no really violent humour , or swearing, or sex, or drugs... but apart from that its the same. This would be suitable for all ages really.I will point out the obvious fact that this is not a serious film or clever. Its just an easy watch, but a great one at that.

Too Close to a lot of Junior Football
I purchased this after having been shown a short clip from in on a large number of Coaching Courses.The film is very funny but the scary thing is that it is far to close to a lot of the negative things that can happen in Junior Sports.It was shown as a warning to us but I believe it is worth it for any coach to watch to see if they do the same things!

Easy to watch on a Sunday afternoon
Hadn't come across this film before, but bought it for my son to keep him entertained on holiday, we both enjoyed it, the kids are brilliant and some of their performances outshine Will Ferrell, a good light hearted film.

Reminds me of running the Primary football
Ok family film but I find Will Ferrell a bit annoying.
