Great replacement unit
It works and sounds great, love all the features of it. I put it in a 2016 Jeep Patriot and replaced the factory standard speakers with Kenwood 6x9 3-ways.

So close to being perfect, but still great!
The receiver itself is awesome... light weight, great rbg settings and sound options, easy to install and has alexa hands free built in! Pros: - Looks nice (RGB, etc) - Lightweight and sturdy - Alexa Function - Harness included with easy instructions - Powerful for standard systems and mid upgrades Cons: - Did not include any connectors (crimp/solder), tape, or heatshrinks - Did not include any mounts or hardware (only din screws) - Did not include any trim pieces (must supply 3rd party double din install kit unless your existing setup is a perfect match) - Antenna input is on the driver side, whereas the old was on the passenger and had no slack (purchased an adapter cable to extend it over without any issue). This radio is a great value for the money and allowed me to ditch my echo auto, get a better hands free experience, and overall I'm happy. 2004 Ford E250 *** I had to use a band file to shave the top/bottom plastic trim to allow the radio to fit. Adding a Metra 95-5817 for final hold but so far it's a snug fit.

Very nice for the price. Love i
Excellent stereo. I love how it automatically connects to my phone for Bluetooth music when I start my truck. Installed in a 2011 Dakota extended cab. An adapter is required for Chrysler vehicles.

Car stereo
It’s a great sounding stereo. I have no problem pairing it with my phone using a usb cable. If you’re looking for a new car stereo I recommend this one.

Best option
Definitely recommend this unit. The price is worth it for the quality. I’ve had many cheap stereos and I feel like I have wasted several hundred dollars on them compared to this Kenwood.

Upgrade features that don't really work -- the old version was better
I was replacing a DPX500BT unit hoping that this updated unit would be similar with upgraded functions as advertised. However, some of the changes do not appear better. First, the install will not be plug and play from the old unit. The pinning is different and requires a fresh install. Additionally, there are 2 less pins from the old unit. This created some confusion as to which wires to not terminate. Second, pressing the volume knob no longer attenuates. This is a function I used to use frequently. Pressing the volume knob now enters the setting. There is no longer a way to attenuate. Third, the unit features clock syncing. Originally, I thought this would be linked to the Bluetooth of the phone, but instead it is linked to FM radio. I don't know how exactly how it pulls from the radio, but in my area the clock syncs 5 minutes too fast. Sometimes, it's off by hours depending on where I am driving. In other words, I have to disable this feature if I want the correct time. Fourth, the functionality of the auto dimmer is unreliable. Apparently, there is an AM and PM setting for different brightnesses along with additional dimming. However, there were times when I was trying to adjust the brightness in the evening and the day time brightness is what made the change. I ended up turning off the feature and left it at one brightness. Similarly, the color selection doesn't have the same colors as the 500BT unit. I try to match the green light scheme in my vehicle, and the shade is no longer quite correct. Although this was supposed to be an upgrade, I wish my old unit was still working. Kenwood miss the mark on this one with too many features that need to be turned off.
