MadJax Club Car Precedent Alpha Street Style Body Kit in Black (Fits 2004-Up)

I have read some bad reviews of people having difficulty installing the light and body kit. If all you have in the line of tools is a hammer and screwdriver then installing this kit is not for you. I had no serious problems installing the lighting system and the body. To make it challenging I didn't get an instruction manual for the body kit with the package. I watched a couple youtube video's and didn't have any serious problem installing the body kit. I owned and ran my own auto body/paint shop for 25 years so that may have helped installing this kit.

We originally contacted the seller about a mismanufactured grille. They responded saying that the manufacturer had included an "addendum" to the instructions. There was no "addendum". That was just the beginning of the issues. Here is a list of the rest of them. Turns out the grille was the LEAST of our problems with this purchase. Poor instructions: This addendum was NOT included in the instructions, nor was there a reference to it in the Madjax instructional video. Also, the instructions referenced parts bag numbers, all of the hardware bags were unlabeled. The instructional pictures did not provide sufficient detail, the headlights did not have the wingnuts as shown, the holes for mounting the tail lights already had screws through them, the wiring diagram instructions and pictures were also very poor. There is no product support for this on the Madjax website. Poor manufacturing: As mentioned before, the grille was missing the two mounting posts that are referenced in the video as well as the instructions. There was apparently an addendum but that wasn't added. The cowl support bracket blocks the OEM bumper so that it doesn't fit properly in the provided supports. The rubber for the headlights fits poorly, the rear body fit was not up to OEM standard, there was insufficient wire length in the harness to run the rear lights, and additional 18 inches of wire is needed to properly run the harness. The wiring harness leaves a noticeable bump in the floor mat due to having to run the new harness on top of the original wiring. The new harness would have to be a complete replacement in order to alleviate that issue. Missing/Excess Hardware It was missing two screws for the cowl mounting bracket, there were missing bolts for the tail lights, there were several extra screws, nylock nuts, and bolts that none of the instructions referenced, although again apparently some of the bolts were for the grille assembly. Other concerns The light switch is exceptionally cheap. The prongs pulled out while we were attempting to remove the wires for installation. It also has a blue LED on the light switch which is blindingly bright in the dark, but only half the time since it shorts out every other time we use the switch. The installation video on YouTube provided by Madjax simply reiterates the instruction manual which is not complete, and doesn't give any instructions regarding common installation problems or troubleshooting. Also the installation video links to another video for wiring harness, but that is for a completely different light kit. We were finally able to get this installed. We had used this golf cart modification as an advertisement, thinking that customers would be interested in having custom body kits on their own carts. Unfortunately we cannot recommend this product to any of our customers due to the poor manufacturing, the terrible instructions, the missing parts, the premium price for the overall poor product, and the ridiculous amount of hours of labor that it takes to install. We asked for a partial refund because of the poor quality, and the only reason we did not send it back is because removing it all and packaging it all up would have just added to the amount of work that we had put into it. The seller offered a 10% discount on our next purchase and said they would forward our complaints to Madjax. I would not recommend to anybody.

This body kit was fairly easy to install and made the cart look great!

Love the body kit and for the most part everything went together well in spite of the vague instruction book. I was able to figure things out on installing the body kit (front and rear) between the printed instructions that came with the kit and the YouTube videos from Madjax. The wiring (bucket) harness sent with the kit, however, is confusing as nothing matches up to to the OEM harnesses. I called Madjax support to have them talk me through which connection block shipped should connect to which OEM block on the cart. At first the tech support person didn't want to help stating that I needed to get tech support from Amazon since that's where I bought the kit from. After explaining that Amazon wouldn't be able to answer these questions, he tried helping a little. Within 2 minutes he was stumped and said the wiring harness I was shipped didn't match up to his diagrams and then hung up on me. I tried calling back. No answer. I then sent an email through Madjax's website asking if they could send me the wiring harness diagram so I can figure out which wires connected to which. No answer. So, I spent an evening building my own wiring harness to connect to the OEM connectors. Like I mentioned, love the body kit. Install is not plug and play as advertised. Madjax customer support needs remedial training on helping the customer out if they plan on staying in business.

Alpha kit came faster than expected and I was able to install per directions with a few slight modifications. Small hand tools are all that is required and a drill to make a few holes to mount the front section and two more holes to mount rear tail lamps. I did have a headlight that did not have all led's lighting, I sent an e mail to seller and they responded right away and sent a replacement. Overall very satisfied with the purchase and the install

Great result. Some missing parts and not accurate instructions, but in the end everything is great. Missing parts were replaced right away.

I read the negative reviews but ignored them. They’re right! I finally got this installed and it looks great but getting there was quite a journey. I consider myself a master technician with a loaded tool chest and I pulled every tool out of my box and made 2 trips to the hardware store, once to replace cheap china bolts that stripped out and another to get stuff that was missing. I downloaded the instructions from the web and they were absolute garbage. The YouTube video is outdated and references a previous generation of this body and light kit. I had to drill holes in the rear underbody to get the light wires back to their locations, instead of them just being about 18” longer. However, I received the kit in 2 days and there were no issues. I do not recommend this project for a DIYer

I am please with the overall look of the kit but hood has started to show cracking in the paint. I do store outside but is only a few month old and should not show this so premature. Packaging was a bit of a joke and will easily damage so check upon arrival. Fitment was just ok. Could have been better on the tub. Does make for a great facelift to your president.
