NIV Popular Bible (New International Version)

There's a saying that "Bibles that are falling apart are usually read by people who aren't" and that was the case with my old Bible - it was literally falling apart. I'd had it so long I hated saying goodbye to it, but this one was so very similar I hardly noticed the difference. I like the NIV Translation better than any other and this one has a slightly bolder, denser type face than my old one which is definitely a bonus. It has the same explanatory notes, Bible guide and maps as my old version, but again printed more simply to be able to understand easily. I know the NIV isn't to everyone's taste but I like the way the chapters are set out with headings and things are explained with small footnotes. For a first time user or someone replacing, like me, I can thoroughly recommend this Bible. It's also proving sturdy in the spine, but flexible in turning the pages. I'm glad I made the change!

Fantastic

A great bible, quickly became my new bedside book! The font size is great, making it easy to read and yet the bible itself is quite light and small. It's definitely a beautiful book. The only little thing would be that you can see the marks of fingers on the cover (but I'm being picky here). There's no additional explanations at the bottom of the pages, just alternative translations.

A Bible translation which speaks to the contemporary person and produces a clarity of thought and direction through clever and appropriate understanding.

I purchased the NIV bible. I was shocked to describe in the first page, a map of "Palestine in the time of Jesus". There was no Palestine in the time of Jesus. During the time of Jesus the region was officially called Judea (and nearby Galilee and Samaria) and it was under Roman rule. The Roman Empire renamed the province of Judea to “Syria Palaestina” in 135 CE, long after Jesus. This was widely understood as a political move to weaken Jewish ties to the land. It is so sinful that the first page of the Holy Bible starts with a misleading political error. The book that should be Truth with each in its letters.

After searching for so long I finally found my bible ... amazing quality for the prize and the text size perfect for young and old just love it 👏🏼❤️
