Why is everything worse now?
It fitted and worked well - for a while. The original unit that was fitted in the shower unit lasted many years. This one lasted maybe 6 months before it started to leak (shower dripped constantly) and failed completely after a few more weeks. When I took it out to replace it you could see that the plastic internals had completely disintegrated. Looks like it's made of very poor quality plastic. Sadly I think this is actually made by the original manufacturer - so it looks like they've switched to a cheaper plastic. Very disappointing.

Purchased just over a year ago and it failed this morning!
Purchased just over a year ago and it failed suddenly this morning - necessitating the purchase of a replacement. I am not sure what caused the failure - our water temperature setting is well below 43 degrees but it just shut-off completely and would not let a single drop of water to pass. We use the shower every day so this Valquest Dc70 thermostatic cartridge has survived at least 750 showers before failing. The slightly better news is that Amazon's price for the identical replacement is only £54.85 - a drop of 68% and significantly less than any other on-line supplier. I just hope the replacement lasts longer.

Exact part I needed, fair price @79.99
£79.99 fair price for this cartridge, Exactly what I needed, working perfectly so far, this part being available saved me a lot of money and hassle. Not sure how long it will last but I think that’s the nature of these products in hard water areas, happy I didn’t have to buy a new shower though. Only problem I had, (not with seller) was evri delivered to my neighbour, which is fine, but neither Amazon nor evri notified me, so I was waiting around for a delivery that had already happened.

Mixing it up
Just the job to repair my showers. Straight swap for the old ones and now have the ability to change temperature.

Exactly same as my original Valquest Valve
My original valve went faulty after 5 years on Hudson Reed shower. I took it out and ordered the replacement. It came within a day thanks to Prime and fitted like a glove. The only thing I would say is that the outer seal was very tough to push into the casing because it’s new and needs brute force. As my shower was concealed it was impossible to use any force. I ended up using the seal from my last valve and it went ina but easy.

...unser Problemkind.
