A: it is meant for horizontal viewing- it could stand vertically when opened w/angle, but think it's really for horizontal. you can open it flat and put on lap vertically

**Q: I saw one that said it can be folded back and lay flat.  When folded back, dose the cover stay folded back and in place until I close it?**
