Does exactly what it should, great quality as expected, slowly replacing all of the cheap tools with Park tools

This is much more useful than the simple chain wear indicators if you’re faced with a variety of multi-gear chains. It is quite expensive but generally you get what you pay for particularly with tools. It’s built to last.

Love it, simple tool that tells you if your chain has worn. Not cheap but feels quality and that it will last.

This is a nice tool. There is a knack to using it correctly so a degree of mechanical sympathy is required but most careful people should have no problem getting an acceptable indication of chain wear. The cam design of measuring minute distances is clever and the materials are all good quality. It comes in a flimsy plastic tray which I think is a shame. The pins are a bit too fragile to keep this loose in a toolbox so it would have been nice to get a decent cardboard or plastic box to store it in.

Checked a brand new chain with this and shows already worn, probably never use this due to this factor

Antes de comprarlo pregunté en la tienda donde me reparan la bicicleta si era mejor este medidor o uno fijo, y me dijeron que es mucho más preciso y fiable este modelo de Park Tool. Me hizo una demostración con un par de aparatos, entre ellos éste. Aunque el precio no es barato puede ahorrarnos bastante dinero en averías.

This Park Tool chain checker is simple, awesome, and worth every penny. It only does one thing, tells you when your chain’s worn out, but it does it perfectly. If you ride regularly, this thing is a must-have. It’ll save your drivetrain, your wallet, and your pride when you realize you’ve been grinding miles on a chain that’s basically a worn noodle. I’m a garage-maintenance kind of cyclist, so this one lives right next to my torque wrench and caffeine stash. Doesn’t make coffee, doesn’t look flashy, just does its job better than I do mine on hill repeats. 10/10 — small tool, big value.
