Review: Just what I hoped it would be. - Stumbled across this 'book' by chance and, being a big Kubrick fan, couldn't resist. Beautifully put together. Just as much attention given to the images as to the information and analysis which is essential regarding this mans work. The first half of the book is a series of large, carefully ordered shots from the films themselves, essentially letting you relive them in still images. The second half goes into great detail on all his films in release order. Everything from early ideas, pre production, filming techniques, set design, visual effects, behind the scenes stories, critical and commercial reaction and more. All interspersed with original script pages, notes, behind the scenes photos, poster designs and interviews with the man himself. This is maybe the first time I've been happy he made such a small number of movies. It means each film gets the care and attention it deserves and the book never feels rushed. Also includes individual sections dedicated to discussing the infamous unfilmed projects Napoleons and A.I. and is finished off with a chronological summary of his life. I would happily have paid full price for this treasure. It's current cost is an absolute bargain. I can't imagine anyone feeling they didn't get their money's worth. I only wish there were equally great books on other great directors. Most options are underwhelming in comparison. A great book for any Kubrick fan
A great book for any Kubrick fan, giving both an overview and details of the filmmakers work and process of film-making. It is beautifully put together. I like that you can both skim through it- because of the frames from the movies creating a short, visual overview of each film- and read details properly, as the second part has details and interesting facts and parts of his rough sketches. Great buy.

A must have
Words cannot describe how incredible this book is. You buy it from Amazon(great price) and you treasure it forever. It’s an absolute must have for any Kubrick fan or true Film lover. I prefer this size compared to the smaller, more compact version. Especially the first part with all the pictures from all of his movies(fear and desire is sadly excluded 🙁) is fantastic. Taschen quality-guarantee.

Excellent book but it arrived damaged
The item itself is worth 4 to 5 stars, depending on what your focus is. The book is about 460 pages, but half of these pages a (beautiful) pictures without any guidance of comment. Although these pictures are beautifully printed, I am not too much into them; my interest lies in the background and stories around the films, and this you find back in the second half of the book. Hence, no 5 star (too many pictures) but 4 (excellent narrative on the films in the second half of the book). The only pity thing (but this obviously has nothing to do with the content), was that the book arrived damaged (corners of the books). This is a fairly heavy book, and if it is shipped in a box that it too large, then the book bounces in the box, resulting in damaged corners of the hard cover).

Must have for any Kubrick or Movie fan!
I had been looking at this book in stores for years and finally caved when the price was right. And boy is it worth every penny when you actually take it home and open it. This is like a treasure-chest filled with Kubrick goodness. To me it is the ultimate Kubrick archive. The book's massive size does the frames and production pictures justice.

Book took too long to arrive, was misplaced by the courier once/ provided wrong information on FedEx website. The Book itself is very impressive in terms of binding and paper quality. A very informative read on Kubrick's filmography and with lots of pictures, interviews, etc. It's a valuable insight into the mind of one of the most dynamic filmmakers. Please note that this edition does not contain the 70mm filmstrips of his films or a CD containing an interview of him available in the first edition of the book that is now out of print and much more expensive.
