The FL72 headlamps combines many modern Coast beam features into one front-loaded headlamp. The first button on the headlamps gives the user The ability to shine an ultra-wide flood beam and then quickly twist the bezel to a long reaching spot beam with transition halo. The second button on the headlamps enables the user to switch rapidly to a fixed red LED light to preserve night vision. Reliable, comfortable, multi-functional
I love this headlamp - the headband is soft and comfortable, has the red light, and it also has a focused bright light, which is great! Also, a reflective band so it is easy to locate amongst your gear. And so far it seems to be very reliable. I thought that having the big red on/off switches at the top sides would make this headlamp very easy to turn off and on. But - there is a sweet spot you still have to manage to find. Somewhat disappointing, but otherwise, better than any other headlamp I have owned - and sadly, that is quite a few!

Separate switch for white and red lights
I love these lights so much I probably now have about 6 of these for multiple bags. I mainly use these for night fishing so it's important that I had a red light. This light has a nice red light and i don't have to toggle through 3 other white light modes to get to it, messing up my night vision. White light is also great with zoom feature and different level of brightness and angle adjustments. The feature I like most on this is the 2 separate light switches for white light and red light.

Super bright. Red for turtle safety
This is super bright. We used it to find sharks teeth on a beach in the middle of the night. It's a little creepy seeing all the wolf spider eyes that shimmer with this on though! I like that I can dim it down when a car passes so I don't blind them.It's noticeably brighter for the first hour or few after putting in a fresh battery. But still plenty bright to use for many many hours after. Changing the battery requires taking the band off. But otherwise it's not hardThe red light option is enough to walk at night, particularly during Turtle season when red is all that's allowed on the beach. It's not really bright enough to see objects very well though.It adjusts nicely for different head sizes. And being able to tilt is great. We ended up buying like 6 or 7 so we can keep them handy in different places. We use them all the time.My only complaint is that the band is elastic, and I'm allergic just some elastics. So it's just a bit itchy on my bare skin. But over a hood or ear hearband works great.

Hands-free liberty with the power to actually back up its claims and more
The best. They do heat up near the lenses, watch out for that.Comfortable to wear, these headbands are great and will fit nicely on your head. They grip but dont scratch you, its not a cheap strap and will last years. The LED is of the latest model from the LED market. The light shines far enough and true daylight. The manual zoom is what I was looking for, the focus is wonderful and will extend the range of the light a lot. I have tri color but I didnt really need red light, just the green. Havent tested the weatherproof but not interested in testing right now.Real powerful light, its a little bit bulky in front of your head but its a very sturdy product. Now battery life, yes on High it eats my Sanyo Eneloops quite fast, I'd say combined 3 hours. On Low this lasts long hours, really wonderful to switch to low to conserver power when you really dont need it on high. Better this units manual zoom feature than digital focus from Energizer which really didn't work as I expected.Good battery life, hangs in place firmly, comfortable strap, options for different light colors (the other lights are NOT 400+ lumens, just night lights and as I seen they wont wake up people sleeping), a bit bulky and heavy but very bulky. All around an excellent light source and our favorite since its hands free, no need to hold these on your hands!

decent buy!
used for spelunking...was down in cave for solid 5-6hrs...didnt have to replace batteries (energizer max) once...stay nice and bright...took getting alil wet here and there no problems that i can tell either...totally a decent buy!

Goes through batteries very fast, the hinges brake.
I've been using this model for about 6 years now, mainly because of the great beam of light it produces. The hinges are plastic and often brake, so I keep buying new one almost every year. Biggest problem is, it goes through batteries like no other. Even on the lowest setting, a set of fresh Duracell last me 3-4 days max.

Works flawlessly
Its a coast product so you know it will work every time. Have taken these on multiple over night elk hunts in below freezing temperature and had no issue at all.
