Flat Top Kabuki Brush By Keshima - Premium Foundation Brush

This was a birthday gift to myself and boy, I chose well. This keshima brush is well known as a dupe for the sigma brush, which has been listed on amazon for only £5 more, so is a 'cheap' dupe that's not a whole bunch cheaper worth the effort? I can't say much about the sigma, but this brush more than meets my expectations and needs. The flat top is fantastic for buffing foundation into the skin rather than letting it sit on top which the traditional foundation brush can do. This leaves a much more natural and 'airbrushed' effect to the face. The bristles are DENSELY packed into the head! a wow for this price bracket and they are super soft enough not to scratch but strong enough to hold their shape with the pressure of application. The bristles pick up enough foundation to disperse evenly without clogging up the brush (and so dragging) and grip enough to not seep or over saturate at the first touch, however I would strongly advise at least wiping the brush every time you use it if not rinsing as unlike the traditional foundation brush which tends to work a bit better with product already on the bristles (obviously not built up but not squeaky clean either), this doesn't and can lead to streaks where the brush is wiping rather than buffing. I'm really pleased with the level of coverage you can build up with this brush with a small amount of product from barely there to full coverage. I have tested this brush with a variety of foundations including oil based and 'water' based, with and without silicones and all though different application levels work well with this brush. It does love a silicone packed foundation as it really helps to buff and blend but I also get a flawless application with a silicone free £4 Makeup Revolution foundation which is clotted cream thick, the trick is buffing not swiping. The handle is chunky which helps support the proper grip for buffing and so enabling a good result by design. My only quibble would have been to take a tip from Real Techniques and flatten the bottom of the brush as it is really handy to stand up when adding another bit of foundation/concealer etc without having to put back in the pot or lay down and thus transfer product. Seriously impressed with this brush, I'm definitely a convert to the kabuki flat head, and considering the quality and the price bracket, this brush should stand for it's quality alone rather than just being a dupe, putting the other set on my Christmas list! A post script, this truly is a company that cares, and hold true to their 100% satisfaction claim as I had an issue with my brush four months down the line and they were fantastic in helping me, I cannot recommend this company highly enough!

Great item, looks sleek and is durable. Decent size and will fit in a makeup bag easily. Good powder and liquid application, goes on smooth with the brush. Great value and stands up again expensive brushes.

I've been using makeup most of my life and in general use a sponge,however , thought I'd switch things up for a bit and try a brush.I didn't want to go over the top pricewise until I was sure this is how I want to apply my foundation.I'm not disappointed though. It has worked quite well although I still,on occasion use my trusty sponges.This brush worked better than I thought it would .To begin with I was not at all sure how to clean it ,but watching a you tube video (you can also scan the box for instructions) it was suggested I should try good old washing up liquid (I'd previously tried a cream hand washing lotion) which took a long time. So tried the washing up liquid. It was clean in a flash! I was delighted as this part of the process of makeup is always the most tedious.I'm really pleased I bought this brush as to date,no hair has escaped,it's still in tip top condition and has proved to be very good value for money.The only minor downside is now and again (rarely in fact) it leaves the slightest streak (hence 4 stars instead of 5) but that might be due to the application by myself! Otherwise, can't fault it.

Only used once so far but a lovely soft brush, foundation goes on really nicely! Prefer it to more expensive brushes I’ve used.

This is the best foundation brush I have used, I have just purchased my second one. The first brush lasted exactly 2 years, it suddenly started to shed hairs - so when they go, they go. I never actually wash them, just use makeup remover on a paper towel to clean the bristles. They are SO soft and pliable, easy to contour even in small areas, lovely chunky handle which is very comfortable to use. I swipe foundation on my skin then use the brush to blend out, that way you are not wasting lots of product and it keeps the base of the bristles clean. Nice looking brush too, also lightweight.

Had this brush for a few months now and am really pleased with it. It’s great value for money, better application than my Clinique brush. Wash it a few times and no hair loss. A good purchase.

Love this brush, this is my 3rd one and I wouldn’t use any other. The best for liquid foundation

Very impressed 👏 seen more expensive ones in Boots but this applies my foundation without any brush strokes.

This does a much better job of evenly applying my liquid foundation than my old flat brush and sells at a better price. I just take my liquid foundation and dot it on my face then use the brush which has been misted before with water. Easy to clean and so soft on my face. Very satisfied with results.

This is the second time I am purchasing this brush! It is too good , my foundation spreads evenly with this brush and there is no settling in or streaks. Highly recommend and would purchase again in the future!

Brilliant for stippling cream or liquid blush in place. I wish there was a smaller option
