I bought this item as it went to the floor and I felt it would be more suitable than a previous one that I had bought. And I was absolutely right. My son installed it, it didn't take long. It's quite safe for me.

Noticed my husband was getting up awkwardly. This was the only thing online that we could find that would aid him getting up from sofa. It could do with being a but sturdier, the handles wobble a bit but it does the job.

The product is simple to put together and seems robust. It does the job we need it for so we are pleased with it

My first problem is that it arrived late but that was by no means the worst. Whichever way I built this it does not fit my sofa. It is too high to go under my sofa cushions which is ridiculous as it is SUPPOSED to be for low sofas and while I can get it at the right height and width to go over my sofa cushion it is not stable in that position and rides up at the back which could lead to a fall. I am so disappointed because for the price it should be designed to do the job I bought it for.. My only option now is to purchase riser feet for the sofa which will cost me another £60 because I will need 10 of them and my mother will not be able to use this device until they arrive. My other alternative is to remove the extender bar in the feet and get someone to saw that bar off and to the height I require. Again that is going to cost me time and money. Besides the item being way over priced for what it is (bed risers are a fraction of the cost) and given it is going to be used by people with a disability, I could not recommend this product at all. Yes it is easy to put together but that is nothing if it can't be used without serious alterations.

This device lives up to its name -- perfect for giving that extra resistance needed for standing up from low soft seats like a couch. Its advantage (besides economy and simplicity) over a lift device/chair is that it helps build upper body strength -- something necessary for using a walker (which is usually an inevitability later on). A very clever idea, a device well made with plenty of flexibility to accommodate many seating widths and heights. Only caveat is it can't be easily used with one piece slipcovers since the supports go under couch cushion. Definitely not a deal breaker. Usefulness far outweighs that inconvenience! Highly recommend.

I tried a couple different styles and I like this one because nothing goes under the couch. Other products require a certain amount of clearance because they have a bar that goes under the couch. This one does not.

My husband has a painful fractured disc in his spine and it is very difficult and painful to get in and out of bed. This product is adjustable and I put it on top of the bed so that the back and sides rest on the mattress and the legs touch the floor. I have him position himself so that the back of his legs touch the mattress and his body is centered with one hand rest on each side that he holds to lower himself on to the bed. I then lift it up and away ( it's not heavy) and lift his legs on the bed. I do the reverse in the morning when he sits in his wheelchair. It makes a huge difference in his being ale to get in and out of bed without pain.
