This film developer is made according to the last known Agfa Rodinal formula. It uses selected, post treated raw materials and is absolutely identical in its formula. As far as we are aware, this statement cannot currently be applied to any other paraminophenol-based film developer on the market that has been manufactured after 2010. Rodinal is the oldest photo patent in the world. The concentrate is almost infinitely durable, even if the bottle slowly discolours after opening. Adonal must be used up quickly, as it rapidly loses effectiveness in dilutions over 1+25. There are film development instructions circulating from the last century according to which an Adox 25 ASA film in Rodinal 1+200 would climb to a miraculous 400 ASA after 3 days of stand development, but we think that every chemist will put this theory in the drawer of curiosities.
