STAEDTLER 120-HB Noris Graphite Pencils for Writing and Sketching - HB (Box of 12)

I recently started sketching for the first time ever and realised I need to use the correct pencils to get the best results. This box of 12 pencils arrived already sharpened and when I needed to sharpen them again it was easy and the lead did not break-off. I am new to using these pencils so not an expert to comment, I can only say how I found them and they were smooth, soft to use and great for a beginner like me. Another important point to mention is when you rub out/erase a mistake, it rubs out clear with no traces of what you have rubbed out, perfect for sketching. I did a bit of research online and it seems that B pencils are the ones to use for sketching. I decided on Staedtler because they were a name I recognised and they have been around for a long time. The quality is really great and the difference in the no name brand ones I was previously using and these ones was noticably different. The price of under £4 for 12 makes these very affordable and should last a long time.

Good quality B pencil. I work exclusively in pencil for my university studies and get through a couple of boxes a term. They sharpen well and the leads have so far not broken on me, I transport these everyday loose in my bag to lectures and they've held out fine. The colour is nice and clear and they aren't scratchy while taking notes. Well worth the price, my only problem is they should come in bigger boxes :) I tend to use them with grips as they are hexagonal and dig into my fingers, however I get this with most hexagonal pencils. They also fit most standard eraser toppers.

There are probably many varieties of pencils as there are jobs for them. As for me, the HB pencils stocked by Tradeur store come off as the best. The point is soft and you do not need to press the paper hard for the writing to be visible. Talking of the writing, it comes very smooth and sharp without paint falling off as other pencils do. They are also pleasure to write with as they fit properly in your fingers. For artists, this comes off as a serious choice as the work you might be working on right now! I would strongly recommend the Tradeur store on these pencils. Further, the shipping was done in a timely manner and the items arrived in time. The customer service in this store is superb and kept to their word that the items would arrive in time and in good shape. Thanks for the good work you do here.

Good bargain. I used this when I was a child and I was fed up of the cheap one which we got as a present; keeps breaking up. So I decided to get these. I'm happy with the purchase. Was expecting it in a box. But as none broke in the envelope I'm happy. Thank you.

Who could have thought there was such a thing as the 'perfect pencil'? Well, here it is! Things I had accepted as 'normal' in pencils before are eradicated by Staedler. They don't have to be ground down to half-way to get a decent, stable, unbroken tip. These are sturdy from the top. They provide clear writing without digging into the paper, scratching or having to go over the lines twice! The writing is easy to erase, perfect for a dotty mind like mine. The wood doesn't strip, crack or break, even when being sharpened and it's from sustainable, certified forests,(I checked the website), so an ecological halo too! Very impressed.

Buying multipacks is worthwhile if you have school age children. These are high quality pencils, and I have given up buying the cheaper own brand supermarket variety as they never seem to be easy to sharpen : the lead breaks repeatedly or the wood splinters with cheaper pencils. With staedtler pencils you get what you pay for, and my children have nicer, neater writing as a result. The lead never breaks, the wood never splinters, and the lead is high quality resulting in sharper writing. Arrived well packaged from amazon, all pencils intact and unbroken (which was my only concern about postal delivery. Fear unfounded.)

Arrived well packaged & on time. These are the best pencils ever, have used these for years and are so much better than other brands that I have bought inbetween. They last well for school, are reliable and are easy to sharpen. Always have a box of these in the house for my boys to take to school when they need them. Good value pack & free postage. Very pleased.

These are excellent pencils - well made with a solid core that does not shatter under normal treatment in a child's school bag. Staedtler have been making pencils since 1835 (actually the family has been making writing instruments since 1662). Hence, despite the price, these are products with heritage. We have very active children who were regularly finding that cheaper no-brand pencils would frequently break their tips and when it came to sharpening them we would find the core 'lead' had fractured. Our experience with Staedtler has been much better. These pencils are an affordable luxury!
