The plastic quality is really poor. I got 2 drives damaged and had no option to exchange but just return. Very disappointing

Peace of mind. Initially when my first HDD from WD failed. I was worried if issue could be in the NAS, but by the time my second Hdd - Seagate IW PRO came my return period had expired. But eventually i was wrong to doubt Synology its very good for you go For it

Das Gerät wurde als Ersatz für eine "alte" 918+ (aus 2018- nach 6 Jahren durfte eine Neue daher) gekauft- da ich der Produktlinie seit nunmehr 2013 treu bleibe, bin ich also von den Geräten überzeugt. Ich verwende folgende Konfiguration: -4GB RAM -4x 2TB Evo 980 SSD -2x 1GBit im Trunk Zum Gerät: -Der Formfaktor ist passend für jedes Plätzchen. Auf dem Tisch, auf dem Container, auf dem Blech im Server/ Netzwerkschrank. -Die Lautstärke: ab und an springt der Lüfter an, das hängt von der Leistung des Gerätes ab. Ich bekomme kein dauerlauf hin- ist aber abhängig von der Nutzung -Plattenkäfige benötigen keinen Rahmen bei 2,5" SSDs- die können einfach in die unteren Gewinde des Datenträgers geschraubt werden -Die Leuchtintensität der Lampen kann eingestellt werden- in der Software Die Software: Das Gerät ist über eine Weboberfläche zu erreichen. Diese reagiert schön schnell. Ich verwende bei den Geräten "nur" den Datenspeicher, habe also keine Container oder sonstigen möglichkeiten ausgeschöpft. Es wird NFS und SMB Share bereitgestellt- funktioniert super! Übertragungsraten bei 1 Gigabit: 100MB+ (Proxmox als Virtualisierer, vorher Xen/ Citrix Hypervisor). Die Möglichkeiten, die in Verbindung mit vMWare und HyperV gegeben sind, kann ich leider nicht einschätzen. Dinge wie Snaphsot usw. hören sich aber sehr interessant an, da sie seit Jahren vom Hersteller propagiert werden, sollte es der Wahrheit entsprechen. Der Store für digitale Erweiterungen macht eine gute Figur, zusätzliche Softwaremodule (Backup, Groupware, Verzeichnisdienst, Virenschutz, Webserver usw....) lassen sich einfach installieren. Das Gerät empfiehlt von sich aus bereits MFA, um die SIcherheit für den Webzugriff zu erhöhen, Kennwörter werden geprüft und wie vielerorts üblich an der SIcherheit gemssen. Das Gerät macht also als Speicher für eine Virtalisierungslösung eine sehr gute Figur und ist uneingeschränkt zu empfehlen- nicht zuletzt wegen der möglichen Erweiterbarkeit durch ein zusätzliches Plattenshelf. Als All- in One Ersatz für eventuell vorhandene Server (insbesondere Groupware/ Mail, Verzeichnisdienst, Fileserver) in kleinen Umgebungen (klein ist relativ- bleiben wir bei NPO/ Vereinen/ Praxen; unter 20 Benutzern) kann ich mir das System durchaus vorstellen- dann aber mit einer Erweiterung des Arbeitsspeichers.

You really can’t go wrong with a synology NAS. Functional, quiet, easy to insert drives and of course DSM is great. This is the 2nd unit that I have bought as I want the ability to use a hot spare as my storage needs have increased. The 1st unit has been in operation for over years and I haven’t looked at it since installation, I expect this to do the same
