Pantene Pro-V Expert Collection AgeDefy Conditioner - 8.4 oz

OK, I have to confess I don't use it as a shampoo for my hair but as a GREAT hand wash. I didn't like it as a shampoo - seemed to dry out my hair too much. I prefer Pureology products for hair. But… as a hand and body wash: WOW, amazing! I do a lot of gardening and struggled for years to keep my hands "presentable" over the summer. Now I have magic "solution" - literally and figuratively. I came upon it by a mix of accident and thinking about what I could do differently from what was clearly not working. The accident was finding a travel size of this, so I could add it to the pile of items to experiment with, without spending a lot. The thinking part was deciding I needed something that worked like a face cleanser - something with more some penetrant chemicals, plus some moisturizer along with the surfactants. Soaps just dried out my skin, and didn't get at the dirt that had already snuck in below the surface layer of skin. I discovered that using a hair conditioner first and then washing with soap was way more effective than soap alone and reduced the drying out. So I started to look for a product that did both steps in one. I settled on this one mostly because I liked how well it worked - and I wasn't put off by the scent . It also dissipates quite quickly. I seriously dislike hand washes that hang around so everything you touch and eat starts to taste like the stuff. I prefer unscented products for everything, but finding an unscented shampoo wasn't easy. The one I did find was an Avalon Organics product. It didn't work as well as this, dried out my skin, and had a slightly "off" smell which I disliked as much as I dislike a LOT of the fragrances in shampoos etc. But scent is a very personal preference thing, so there may be other shampoos of the "deep penetrating"/"moisturizing" kind that work as well as a hand/body cleanser that other people like the scent of more. Another plus: it's very concentrated: a little goes a long way, more than other shampoos/hand/body washes. I've now taken to dispensing some into a pump dispenser and diluting it a little with distilled water. Perfect.

I would highly recommend this product having tried many other conditioners which were specifically formulated for very dry hair. The thing is the other products either didn't work at all or only provided minor improvement! The Pantene Pro-V not only softened my hair but actually make it feel more hydrated and look much smoother after blow drying. Another plus is that it doesn't take a lot of product to saturate wet hair so it's economical to use which is always good. Using the Pantene has tamed many 'fuzzy' ends that always used to show no matter what I tried.....this product has virtually eliminated the 'fuzzies'. Give it a try, I don't think you'll be disappointed.

I really don't know how to rate this as I just received it and haven't used it yet. I am assuming it is okay and it may be great - I just don't know yet. There should be a star that says "haven't used it yet" if you want an opinion this quickly. Give people a week or two to try the product, then send them the reviews to comment on.

I gave this rating because on my first use of the product it was great, so I am just waiting for the end results after I have completed the content of the bottle. I haven't noticed a great difference in the thickening lotion on my hair but I look forward to the end results of that as well. The conditioner is great. It has really brought the texture of my grade of hair texture back. Thank you.

First of all, I am NOT getting a discount or freebie for writing this review, I just want to tell you how amazing this stuff really is!! I'm not THAT old - maybe I feel like I am with 3 kids, but really, I'm only in my early 30s - but I discovered the Pantene Pro-V Age Defy shampoo (and conditioner!) a few years ago and it really has been a life changer! I have super fine hair, but lots of it, so I went through SO MANY different brands of shampoo/conditioner over the years and just never could find "the one" that made my hair feel beautiful. I think I tried just about every volume-inducing/volume-enhancing/volume-boosting product on the market, and yet, my hair was still dull, dry and lifeless. I tried the Age Defy on a whim (I think I probably had a coupon for that first bottle), and I instantly noticed a HUGE difference! My hair had not felt so soft and looked so shiny since Ross and Rachel had their first kiss (I always wanted Rachel's hair!!)! I was also very impressed by the amount of volume that I got (and still get!) with this collection that doesn't even advertise how great it is for hair that needs - and begs for! - volume! I seriously have no idea what they put in this stuff, but the "Age Defy" claim is spot on. Even if you're not "THAT old," you might want to give this a shot if your hair is anything less than what it used to be before you found yourself with a mortgage/husband/kids/etc.

I am a long time user of Pantene products and I really love the packaging of this conditioner versus other conditioners in the Pantene lines. It allows for easy dispensing so that none is left in the tube when there is not much product left. The smell is tropical with a hint of coconut. It reminds me of the summer and the beach. The conditioner is thick enough to make a difference when coating hair to bring out shine and smoothness, even after rinsing hair off. It really revitalized my hair after very dry winter months and made me want to run my fingers through it - tangle free! I tested this Pantene product for free, but all opinions are my own.

This shampoo does what it says It makes thinning hair look and feel thicker. I would recommend it to anyone who has thinning hair.
