Calmag SI-Calmag Scale Inhibitor

I previously had a budget chemical limescale filter (still much more expensive than this item) which eventually was left for too long and clogged up, and so did the pipe connecting the filter and the electric shower. I was highly skeptical about the mechanism behind the magnetic limescale protection. Supposedly, the limescale is not removed but stays suspended in water, so it just does not stick to the pipes. However, I decided to buy this anyway as it fitted the gap left by the filter and was quite cheap. Few months on, the electric shower seems fine and even the shower head does not clog up as much.

Bought this item as a replacement for one which didn't appear to be working.Very easy to fit. Extremely good price compared to others. Can't comment on whether it's doing a good job as the results are not visually apparent. Only time will tell and I must say this applies to all brands.

Time will tell if it makes a difference, but from experience, these do reduce limescale. Item was really easy to fit.

Simple to fit and had an obvious effect within seven days.

I ordered two of these devices, one to protect an electric shower which i have recently replaced. The second was fitted on the cold water feed to the kitchen, hopefully protecting the washing machine and kettle from scaling. The reason i have given three stars is because they were not as pictured on Amazon. They were described as suitable for push fit or compression fitting. The ones supplied to me are compression fit only and look different to the photograph. On the positive side; they were easy to fit and any competent DIYer will have no problem. They claim a life time guarantee, so if they prove to be effective are a bargain at the price.
