Right on target every time!
What can I possibly say about this remarkable device?Well, for years I have followed the traditional route when fitting shelves or attaching battens to walls. You drill a hole, offer the batten to the wall and ensure it is level and then you fiddle with an old screw pushed through the hole or a pencil with a very long and fragile lead hoping it won't snap before leaving its vital mark. It's all the more frustrating when, after marking any number of points you remove the batten only to discover most of them are invisible due to the wall surface which in the case of pebbledash resists almost all attempts to leave a clear and accurate mark for subsequent drilling. Then I discovered the Marxman Marx!Having drilled your holes in the batten and ensured it is in the correct position on the wall you just offer the conical tip of the marxman to the hole and, rather like an inhaler in principle, you give a little extra press. You do this for each and every hole and, when the batten is removed you see a series of accurately placed fluorescent green dots precisely aligned with the holes in your batten. You just drill on the green spot!It works equally well with ready made items such as shelf brackets or timber up to about 50mm. Thicker timbers can use the big brother version designed to cope with 100mm - and it does.I rate this little invention as being right up there with the likes of the Dyson which looked at an established method of doing something and came up with a better solution. No more stripping a biro so you can poke the nib down the hole. No more wierd trimming of pencils or peering at a wall like a mad person looking for tiny clues. The Marksman Marx really works and it is a brilliantly simple solution to an annoyingly common problem. You can see the original pitch on Dragons Den online and it's well worth a look. Personally, I think it is something everyone should have in their toolkit and I guarantee you will always find one in mine.

Great tool can't beat it
Would have given it six stars if I could, how did I ever manage without this handy device. Has made my latest task of putting up some shelves so much easier and precise than I have previously managed.

Really good for getting drill holes marked. Great visibility.
I was recently replacing a CCTV camera, and had bought Marxman a while ago. I've used it for quite a few DIY projects and I'm really happy that I found it. I learnt about it when I was watching a Dragon's Den recap show. I've always struggled when using markers or pencils to record where I need to drill. I'll either make rubbish marks on walls or get confused about where I've actually put them as i'll be marking in grey. The fact that the paint in Marxman is green means that I can see it very easily. When I was changing out an old wall mounted camera for a new one I just wanted to get in and get done. In all it took me 19 minutes to get up, and swap out the camera for the new one and I had no issue with marking or drilling holes. This is a really handy tool and like I said, I've had it for a while so it does last long for your casual DIY 'enthusiast'.

Game changer
I am really impressed with the Marxman. This pen is truly a game changer for marking holes through objects. The "ink" is non-permanent and easily erasable, making it perfect for marking on a variety of surfaces, including wood, metal, and plastic. I also appreciate that the "ink" is vibrant and easy to see, making it easy to locate my marks. It has made my DIY projects much easier and more accurate. I highly recommend this product to anyone in need of a reliable and versatile marking tool. 5 stars!

my go to device for marking holes
i love this thing. its so simple and it has worked for me every time. its not always difficult to mark with a pencil but doing so requires a little bit of concentration and there is always the possibility of the thing your holding up against the wall slipping while you do it. with this thing you only need to offer it to the hole and push. if you need to rub the mark out it wipes away very easily. because it ejects the paint you dont need to worry about the tip of the pencil reaching through whatever you are marking through or indeed breaking the tip of the pencil on the first hole and having to start again. good product, recommended especially for the occasional DIY'er who really doesn't need fiddly product to go along with a less than professional skill base.

Game changer !!!!
***This is a game changer *** somehow I have Only just discovered this type of product. It’s a must have if you’re a DIY’er or professional. Makes marking anything so easy. For example just installed a double Exterior socket on my pebble dashed wall on my house. It’s awkward to mark the holes with a pencil or pen due to the stoney material. This marked the drill holes with a good burst of green chalk that was highly visible. Nice
