Very convenient, except that it's a 2-pack of the same thing
These are awesome. The screws can be removed without them falling apart so I can plug them directly into my cable and into the device I am connecting to. My only complaint is that they came in a 2-pack with the same genders. I don't need 2 of the same thing. 1 of each type would have been more useful to me. Male to male, female to female and male to female in one kit would have been perfect.

Looks Like A Good Product, But Make Sure You Order The Correct Gender
Generally looks like a good product. *You get six. *They are low profile. *They say, "NULL MODEM" on one side and "MINI ADAPTER" on the other. *The hex screws are retained so they won't fall out. Just make sure that you order the right gender. I accidentally ordered a Female to Female. So what I got was both a Null Modem and a Gender Adapter in the same unit. I really wanted just a Null Modem adapter which would have Female on one side and a Male on the other. That was my mistake, so no points were deducted. Although, I am returning the product, so there is some incentive to make the ad copy clearer..

These adapters (as sold by dgjiachen) conform to the "Full Handshaking" pinout described on Wikipedia (search for "Null modem"), so by-and-large will work with normal serial ports without any special settings. I have used one to connect a PL2303-based USB serial adapter to the serial port of a server so that I can do some startup troubleshooting via the console. Took advantage of the twin pack, as one shall inevitably go walkies when surrounded by envious techies curious about how I make fixes as close to the metal as possible...

There are lots of serial devices wired to expect a modem connection, including most usb-db9 adapters. This is just what was needed for programming up my firewalls
