Great developer
Excellent for modern T grain emulsions but excels with minimising grain in class films. Expensive and doesn’t go far but this is top shelf developer for those special rolls/paid shoots that require the best development possible.

You get what you pay for...
This is without doubt the most versatile developer out there, it literally works with any film, I've pushed HP5 to ISO1600 and got great results, and I've shot Rollei Ortho 25 at box speed and had beautiful results too. It isn't cheap but the best costs, and you can find recipes for 1:9 which work well, if you don't mind the increased development times, so it can be used economically. I generally just use it at 1:4 because it's so consistent and I know what I'm getting. Ilford state that it will give you great negatives for printing, with an excellent range of tones, and I can definitely confirm that this is true, its reputation is well deserved.

Great used in conjunction with HP5
Used to develop HP5 at box speed with Ilford suggested time of 9 mins, agitation for 10 seconds at the start of each minute and then fixed with Ilford Rapid Developer. Results are excellent and I will be sticking with this as my developer for the foreseeable future.

Very easy to use and superb results - great for first timers
Very easy to use - one shot developer - no complicated procedures - just follow the simple instructions on Ilford’s website. I started developing my own B&W with this. Has very fine grain and just great all round - this is best with the Delta range - out a roll through a camera with a high quality lens - expose for the shadows (or let the matrix meter in a Minolta Dynax 7, Nikon F100/F5/F6 do the metering) follow the instructions and you can then get beautiful correctly exposed negatives which you can print traditionally or scan.

Great developer
This is a fine developer even if a bit pricey. Unless used quickly it should be decanted into smaller bottles to prevent oxidation.

Good quality developer
Good quality developer, works well, excellent results. The only down side if you use it as a one shot developer it not very good value for money.

Great developer and very versatile. I've used it pushing and pulling films, stand developing, you name it and I end up with great negatives every time. I stick to known good times for developing but it's not so exacting that an extra 5 seconds will ruin a development.
