A great version of a classic game
Up until recently when I started playing the Legends of the West legacy version of Ticket to Ride, this was my favourite variant of the game. The addition of ships and harbours make it a more challenging and strategic version, but it still retains all of the TTR trademarks of simple gameplay. Pick up cards, claim routes, complete destination tickets: simple and brilliant fun. Rails and Sails just gives players more to think about, more ways to complete routes, more strategy and options. It's fantastic.

A great addition to the Ticket to Ride gaming world
We’re big fans of the original and this did not disappoint. This expands on the original game but not in a way that over complicates it unnecessarily. The sails aspect is great fun in addition to the rails part. Our games usually take between 45-60 mins and as a family of 5 it’s great we can all play together. Great quality pieces and well packaged. Highly recommend

Brilliant boardgame. It takes a couple of games to get it straight in your head and seems complicated, but its actually very easy to play and such good entertainment.

Great expansion/variation on original game
This is a great variation on the original Ticket to Ride with enough new features to make it feel a new game. The addition of ships and shipping routes brings a whole new level of strategy since you have to choose how many ships and trains you are going to use depending on your routes. The board has two sides: the whole globe, which you can travel around, by going of one side and coming back on the other, and the Great Lakes, which has a sufficiently different balance of shipping and rail routes to make it feel like a different variation. There are no stations in either version, which does occasionally mean you get blocked and cannot complete a route. There is also the addition of harbours, which you can build to earn huge endgame bonuses. The more tickets you complete going into a harbour, the bigger the bonus. Like stations, unbuilt harbours cost you 4 points at the end of the game. For me, the harbours feature is the one weakness since it is pure chance as to whether you will be lucky enough to get more than one ticket into a harbour. Getting two or more tickets into a harbour gains such a huge point advantage that the often make the difference between winning and losing, which means the outcome of the game is decided by almost solely by chance not strategy and planning - you can't plan to get 2 or more tickets into, say, Sydney, you can only hope you'll be lucky enough to get them. You could replace the harbours with stations, though, and that might improve things. Note: all the above is based on games played with two people.

One of the Best Board Games I’ve Ever Played
This is one of the best board games I’ve ever owned. The concept itself is fantastic and really leaves an impression. The overall production quality is excellent - I especially love games with physical elements like the little train and ship pieces. The cards are also beautifully made, with a slightly textured finish that feels very pleasant to hold. A truly enjoyable and well-crafted game. We also like version with ships more - as it gives more options for creating routes and gives more time for 2 player's game.

Awesome Game. Quality cards & markers. Always Recommend. 7 Star rated product
Awesome game. Been my favorite boards of all my Ticket to ride boards. Cards, markers and board are very durable provided handled properly and made of high quality materials. Price could have been lower when compared with the same product which is sold at lesser price in USA.
