I got this in rum raisin and all I can say is that the colour lives up to the hype. It's a lovely colour. I think it's a rare colour that would suit most skin tones - it suits me and my aesthetic with my almost cool-olive desaturated fair skin, but would look beautiful on deeper skin tones. It's a very versatile neutral which works well whether as a more subtle look on deeper tones or more statement on fairer tones. A lot of neutral tones look weird as hell on me - darker neutrals skew purple, orange, too saturated brown, or otheriwse they're somehow too chalky-pale and make me look ill. This is one of the best neutral colours I've ever used. The formula is beautiful. It's super pretty, shiny, and very emollient to apply. After so many tuggy, drying lip-products, this is comfortable to apply and wear. Unfortunately the formula is also why it's not a 5 star rating, although part of me thinks I'm being unfair as this is my personal preference. Personally, I'll try and find the matte rum raisin and hope it looks enough like this colour. The formula isn't sticky at all, but as a long-time matte wearer, I did find it acted as a bit of a magnet for stray hairs and smudged easily. For the formula type, it's to be expected and it's a bit of a silly complaint, but I wasn't a fan all the same. Secondly, this doesn't last. AT ALL. Forget eating, it's gonna be gone if you drink your coffee. Again, with the formula that's standard and to be expected, so it's a bit of a silly complaint, but it does put me off giving 5 stars. And because it's super emolliant and doesn't last (and because it's a beautiful colour that I see myself getting a lot of wear out of) you need to apply regularly and it goes down quick - so don't expect this to be a product that lasts forever. A few minor complaints that keep this from being a 5 star product... but if you have the £ to rebuy at this (pretty standard, not cheap but not insanely prohibitive) price-point and don't need a product that is going to last (either on your face or in your make-up kit), it's a lovely lipstick.

Bought 5 in the same colour. Brilliant lipstick. Stays put and feels so comfortable I forget I’m wearing lipstick. I highly recommend Revlon lipstick.

It’s not a bright red more a deep red and doesn’t have much staying piwer

It’s actually gorgeous, I don’t usually buy pearlescent lipstick because my top lip is turning down so it tends to look too thin with anything but matte. I’m now 33 and sick of not trying out different looks, this looks great with my pale olive skin , I have grey/green eyes but this would honestly pop with any eye colour. It’s not long lasting but part of the fun is reapplying through out the day. It’s a dream for us who like tints and sheer makeup looks. It’s not going to be the favourite of the glamour puss. It’s an everyday day lipstick with a grunge 90’s aesthetic.

Absolutely amazing lipstick. I love the colour of it as looks like congealed blood which is what I like about it. It definitely matches the description of the shade “vampire love” which is the truth as it looks like a goth shade. Seriously go for it if you want a vampire look. I definitely recommend.

When pulling the sticker off of the lipstick I saw that there was lipstick residue underneath. I originally thought maybe the lipstick melted while travelling, but I opened it and saw a mark in the lipstick at the top, as if someone dug their nail into it. There are also fingerprint marks on the metal part which shows someone definitely has opened this lipstick before and has tampered with it. Disgusted and outraged.

I brought it for my wife, so If you want a versatile, everyday lipstick that gives a polished but natural look, Smoky Rose is a strong choice. It’s not meant to dazzle all night or survive multiple meals, but for work, casual outings, or whenever you want something that complements your face rather than fights for attention, it’s very dependable. For her, this shade earns a solid 8/10. If Revlon improved its longevity slightly (or if wearers are willing to help it with lip prep and reapplication), it would bump up even more.
