Stabila TYPE81SREM 25cm/10-inch Rare Earth Magnetic Spirit Level

Funny enough, I did not purchase this tool for its magnetic properties. I'm not a scaffolder and rarely work with ferrous metals. I just wanted an affordable, handy sized, general purpose level that I know is 100% reliable. I think Stabilia's reputation speaks for itself. For a non-precision level aside from the likes of the more pricey precision tools makers Moore and Wright, Mitutoyo, Starret etc. Stabilia is no doubt poles apart from the competition. Ok I'm not here to go on about brands! Here to talk about the tool. Now I don't know what they have been feeding the Type81SREM for brunch but that rare earth magnet has a humongous appetite for Iron Ore. First time I witnessed its awesome power was by accident and it frightened the life out of me. I recently purchased the Kilo coffee table from Habitat. It's made of oak and metal. The legs are dark solid oak ( tiny, flimsy thing ) and the table top is sheet metal ( Very poor quality might I add ), however its been painted a lively green ( doesn't look like metal ) and I keep forgetting it is made of metal. Having just recently received the tool, I was fiddling with it as you would. Done fiddling I went to place it down on the coffee table. The thing fly out of my hand and what can I say... I all most bricked my boxers, maybe I did?. I'm sure there is a tiny brown patch on the boxers I wore that day. Even now it still has that fright factor. It's an awesome magnet! As I said didn't buy it for its magnet. Can't fault it as a level. Spot on :) If you like your accessories like me, then the holster is a super swank accessory to own. It is well tailored and above all it is a very hand item for storing the level as you march from one spot to the next. It works well in conjunction with my homemade all in one handy-man holster. For the price, it's a steal, which is why I stole it from Amazon Prime, muhahahaha Ok I paid for it, but it was a steal at that price :D

I've had this for 10 months now and am very pleased with it. I'm glad I paid extra for the Rare Earth Magnet version as (although I'm not a scaffolder) it has come in handy on several jobs (even this week while levelling some large building site entrance gates). The holster is tucked snugly into an open pocket in one of my tool totes rather than on my belt so it keeps it clean, safe and easily accessible. Again worth the extra cost over the non magnetic version that does not come with a holster. All in all I can't fault it. Worth paying the extra for a quality product.

This item is good for the money spent, very sturdy and the magnet is strong and durable, functions well and is the perfect size

Can’t go wrong with this well known brand, extremely accurate and the magnets are really powerful. The only level I will use and trust from now on !

The level didn't last long at all. Has had very little use and lost a magnet. Still works with one but not the best.

Strong study level with a strong magnet, had this in my tool bag for a few years, very scratched and bashed but still works great and still accurate. The magnet also has a groove which is great for sitting on pipework.

Good strong magnets and nice finish to the level. Looks like it will last for years . I've had plenty of levels where the bubble just keep getting bigger , not an issue with my other Stabilas so far

Nice level, except the magnets on the one I got keep pulling out of the frame and now stick out above the machined surface so you can't get a level reading. Fail!

Tolle, hochwertige Wasserwaage. Kann man im Haushalt vielfältig einsetzen. Nicht nur für Profis.

(Das ist inzwischen meine dritte Stabila Wasserwaage. Habe die drei in unterschiedlichen Längen. Ich brauchte noch eine kleine magnetische. Die Magnete unten hält diese super fest. Stabila hat wie immer eine sehr gute Qualität.) Das war eigentlich meine Bewertung von ca. vor 3 Wochen gewesen. Nun zur Ergänzung, die Magneten der Typ 81 S REM sind super stark. Genau das ist die schwäche der Wasserwaage. Heute zum ersten mal im Einsatz gehabt und nach 2x justieren hingen diese dann am Metall anstatt noch in der Waage zu sein. Die Magneten sind nur billig unten in die Wasserwaage verklebt siehe Foto 1. Effektiver wäre es wenn man die Unterseite der Typ 81 S REM magnetisch machen würde mit einem Magnetstreifen oder nur zum teil magnetisch, anstatt diese mit 2 runden Magneten nur zu verkleben!!! Hab noch ne kleine billige Budget Wasserwaage die einen Magnetstreifen unten hat. Die hält gut fest misst aber ungenau, daher dachte ich man kauft sich mal was qualitatives. Leider irrtum. 5 Sterne verdient der Amazon Service der mir problemlos eine neue zusendet. Mal sehen wielange diese hält oder ob es sich bei meiner jetzigen um ein Montagsprodukt handelt.
