A Sharp, Ergonomic, and Affordable EDC Pocket Knife
I recently purchased the stainless version, and I must say, I am thoroughly impressed with this product. This knife is a perfect addition to my EDC collection and has quickly become my go-to option for daily tasks. Firstly, the ergonomic design of this knife is exceptional. It fits comfortably in my hand, allowing for easy maneuvering and maximum control. Additionally, the weight of the knife is just right - not too heavy, not too light - making it easy to carry in my pocket without feeling cumbersome. But what really stands out about this knife is its sharpness. The AR-RPM9 blade is razor-sharp straight out of the box, and it holds its edge extremely well. I have used it to cut through everything from cardboard to thick rope, and it has not let me down yet. The button lock mechanism is another feature that I love about this knife. It locks the blade firmly in place, giving me the peace of mind that the blade won't accidentally close on my fingers. The operation is incredibly smooth and easy to use with just one hand. The price of this knife is a steal for the quality that it provides. It is an outstanding value for a knife of this caliber, making it accessible to anyone who wants a high-quality EDC knife without breaking the bank. Overall, I highly recommend the Pyrite for anyone in need of a reliable and affordable EDC knife. Its ergonomic design, good weight, sharp blade, great button lock, smooth operation, and excellent cost make it an outstanding option that you won't regret purchasing.

Quality for the price, great lock/release
I bought this knife as a daily carry. I wanted something cheap yet slightly better than rust-prone D2 steel. Gotta say it’s pretty nice. I haven’t tried high end steels but this steel seems to hold an edge pretty well, sharpens well, and I have not had any chips or deformation with the edge. Knife looks great; people comment on how nice the stainless handle looks. The action is great too. You can flick it open with any finger, it’s balanced great. The only “cons” are that the spring in the locking pin can get sweat and water trapped inside so it tends to rust. Not sure that there’s any way around that though. The other thing is that you want to use loctite on all your mounting screws to avoid the screws backing out over time and for the blade to not get too loose. Overall, it’s held up to use in construction and around water pretty well. I’d buy it again if I lost mine

Fantastic quality for the price!
I recently purchased both the wharncliffe and drop point version of the pyrite, and I’m absolutely blown away by the quality of these knives! I have owned many folding knives, ranging in value from $20 to $300 custom knives, and these Pyrites are hands-down the best in every category. The design is brilliant; action, lockup, blade centering are all perfect; overall fit-and-finish has been flawless. In fact, I believe the only compromise when compared to a $300+ folder is in the blade steel; however, even in that regard, my experience with RPM-9 has been overwhelmingly positive! No chipping, no corrosion, very respectable edge retention, and sharpening/stropping is easy (which i certainly can’t say for my s110v, magnacut or 20cv blades). Buy this knife!

It's What You'd Expect for $50... Maybe More, Only Time Will Tell
The High-Level: You get what you pay for and for $50, this feels like a solid knife… BUT… First Impressions: Feels good in the hand. Ergos are spot on. Some say the steel stonewashed slabs are slippery in the hand, preventing a secure grip, but I've not found that to be the case. This is my first knife with a ball bearing pivot, I'm more of an old head, preferring bronze washers for toughness and ease of cleaning. The blade swings effortlessly, so much so the blade is prone to bounce when flipping shut, but there's a sweet spot and timing with the release of the button lock that snaps the blade closed when you do it right. When either open or closed, the blade has zero play. I heard mention the blade had play when shut, so that was a positive sign right out of the box when I was checking for blade play. The grind on the blade is near perfect, very consistent, and overall has a great factory edge. I’m excited to see what performance I can get out of this proprietary blade steel from Artisan Cutlery. Inspection Results: When evaluating for blade play and any other QC imperfections, I noticed a faint rattle as I shook the knife; closed of course. When I say faint, I mean FAINT. I had to really listen for it closely. So, I brough out my drivers and discovered that one of the barrel spacer screws was loose. Removed it completely and revealed there was no thread locking compound used on the screw. I applied a small dab of blue Loctite and torqued it down to the German spec gutentight. I moved on to assess the other screws and found them all to be loose and sans thread locker, so I repeated the same steps. The only screws that had torque behind them were the pocket clip screws, but again, no thread locker. The pivot screws were secure, and I wasn't about to monkey around with them unless they were loose too. Only time will tell if they walk out. Final Thoughts: As I said in the opening line, "You get what you pay for." I'm disappointed that there was no use of thread locker on the hardware, and they weren't at the very least torqued down, but it's a $50 knife from overseas, so my expectations weren't exactly high. 99% of the time I'm carrying a ZT or a Benchmade, but over the years these "budget brands" have been producing some quality tools and for the money, I don't mind trying them out for myself and adding them to the collection if they pass my quality expectations. After I let the Loctite cure on the Pyrite, I'll work it into my daily carry and report back if I find anything else worth noting.
