Naoki Urasawaโs unforgettable thriller follows a brilliant doctorโs journey into the darkest depths of the human soul. Johan is a cold and calculating killer with a mysterious past, and brilliant Dr. Kenzo Tenma is the only one who can stop him! Conspiracy and serial murder open the door to a compelling, intricately woven plot in this masterwork of suspense. Once upon a time, a monster in disguise lived in a peaceful little town in a peaceful little valley. The monster cut all ties to evil and began helping the people of the town. But one day, some devilish messengers came to visit. The town was suddenly enveloped in a miasma of fear, and the people began to kill each other. The messengers had come to the town with one goal in mind: to capture the monster named Franz Bonaparta! How can a real person become nothing more than fiction? By eliminating everyone who has ever known them, everyone who has ever known of their pastโby becoming the only one in the world who knows of their existence. One man attempted to do this, trying to commit the perfect suicide. But he failed to wipe out all traces of his former life, and in this failure, he became the nameless Monster. Fantastic manga series
I thoroughly enjoyed this series, and the ending really makes you think about the entire journey of these characters. The ending can be quite ambiguous but it will stick with you for a long time.

I enjoyed the ending to the Monster saga thoroughly
I enjoyed the ending to the Monster saga thoroughly, and felt quite happy that it didn't fall over itself trying to have plot twists and last minute revelations. Instead it was a bit of something new, and a lot of what Monster has done so well since its beginning. The ending, while apparently divisive, felt natural, earned and in keeping with the characters.

Such a fitting ending
Such a fitting ending for every character. There were a couple things I desperately wanted to happen, and they didn't happen, but that's okay because what happened was even better. It's not the most exciting ending, it's not the most elaborate or fleshed out ending, but everything is dealt with and that's the most important part.

Beautiful conclusion
If you have read up to volume 8, then there is absolutely no reason to not buy this. The conclusion is really nice in my opinion and if you've read up to this point then you need to see the conclusion. If you're looking at this to just get an overall taste of the whole series, I'd say it's worth it, especially if you like seinen.

A brilliant manga
It was a pleasure to reread Naoki Urasawa's masterpiece in such high-quality format. Some of the panels have been redrawn to reflect Urawasa's artistic progress (and in most cases, it is an improvement) and several pages are in color. The quality of the book is exceptional: thick paper, good binding, solid cover. Although the lack of extras is a little disappointing, the entire collection is well worth buying.
