Finally!
I finally bit the bullet and bought myself a fountain pen. I've been wanting one for years. I don't know what took me so long. I had seen an ad for Ellington Pens and I figured I would check it out. Thanks to Black Friday deals and a coupon, I was able to get the Stealth Fine Point Pen at a really good price. The pen arrived in a nice little box with a ribbon around it to keep it in place during shipping so it wouldn't get damaged. It also came with a small box containing 3 ink cartridges (2 black, 1 blue). There was also a business card that had a QR code where it would take you to the Ellington Pens website. From there you can get some tips and tricks on using the pen and contacting support when/if needed. I had to contact support because my simple brain couldn't figure out the ink cartridge. It comes with a refillable ink converter in the pen right away, which I'm assuming that it's for getting ink out of bottles. That will be something to try in the future. I like that it was shipped that way, without any ink in the actual pen. It prevented any possible ink from leaking or exploding, which could have damaged the pen. Once I figured out that the ink converter needs to be removed and an actual ink cartridge needs to be inserted (it just snaps in), I was ready to test it out and get the ink flowing. This pen is absolutely AMAZING! It writes very smooth and the ink flow is constant. It fits well in my hand when writing. However, it soes seem to write a little thicker than I'd like. I have a Fine Point and to me it writes like a Medium Point. It doesn't leave blotches or have inconsistent thickness/thinness in writing. If the pen is uncovered while not being used for a chunk of time, it will cause the ink to dry a little bit. All that needs to be done to rectify that issue is just write/draw some circles and the ink will flow again like it should. Although I normally have messy handwriting, the pen allows me to write more clearly. I can also write messy if I want to as well. I see a lot of writing happening in my future. The only cons I have about this pen is that it's heavy compared to other pens out there. Of course I'm sure most, if not all, fountain pens are heavy. I also wished/hoped they'd have more ink colors than just blue or black. I know there's other companies who have other colors available, but I'm hesitant on exploring those options. **Edited to add: I discovered that Ellington Pens does have additional ink colors besides blue and black. I'll definitely be ordering those in the future!** Overall, this is a wonderful pen that writes beautifully! I just got this pen a couple days ago and I've already ordered another one (or two). Having just one fountain pen isn't enough. I highly recommend jumping on the Fountain Pen bandwagon with one of these Ellington Pens. The price is great, the luxury of the product is amazing, and it'll make you want to write more!

Excellent pen for an excellent price!
Excellent pen, especially for the price! I have been a fountain pen fan for 40 plus years and I ordered this one to try out. I want to get a couple of pens for Christmas gifts for coworkers. I wanted a pen that looked good, felt good, and (of course) wrote nicely without skipping or scratching. I’ve always used a converter in the past but I wanted something that could use cartridges or a converter, and I didn’t want proprietary (expensive) cartridges. Converters could be more trouble and potentially messier than my potential recipients might be ready for, so cartridges needed to be an option. I ordered the Ellington pen and I was immediately impressed with the attractive packaging, a factor to consider in a gift. I opened it up and it’s a very nice looking pen, has a nice fit and finish. It comes with a converter and three cartridges. I installed a black ink cartridge and grabbed a piece of paper to try it out. Ink flowed as soon as the nib touched the paper. The nib glides across the paper, no scratching or skipping. It’s a beautiful pen, well made and well balanced. I will be ordering two more for Christmas gifts but this one I am keeping for myself.

Beautiful. Buy it.
I didn’t know what to expect but this is an excellent quality pen. I was very happy with the weight, finish, color, fit of the cap ease of use for the cap and quality of the nib. I’m not very droid at describing fountain pens, but this is a very beautiful well design functional pen. I wouldn’t hesitate to buy it again.

Smooth, Elegant Writer
This is my second Ellington fountain pen, my first one mysteriously disappeared after someone “borrowed” it (a testament to how nice it is). I genuinely love the way it writes. The medium nib delivers smooth, consistent ink flow and glides effortlessly across the page. It really does feel like a luxury pen at a great price point. A quick note: if you write with a light hand, you might notice the top strokes of your letters aren’t as full or bold as the downward ones. It’s not a flaw, just something to be aware of with this nib. If you have a heavier hand, though, it writes beautifully. The set includes both cartridges and a refillable converter, which is a great bonus. I only wish the instructions were printed as having to scan a QR code to figure out the ink setup was a minor annoyance. Still, an excellent pen that I’d happily recommend, and clearly, I already bought it twice!

Ellington pens are quality writing instruments.
Ellington pens are wonderful. I pick it up and it writes smoothly every time. I never have the skipping at the start that is common with some fountain pens. I use Ellington’s cartridges. I gave up filling my pens with bottled ink a long time ago. I like the ease and speed of popping in a cartridge. This one is a very pretty pink, but Ellington makes lots of colors and nib sizes to choose from. Worth every penny. I am very happy with my purchase.

Complete Failure to Write Acceptably
This is a review of the Ellington Fountain pen, extra fine nib. I will compare it to other pens. See photos. IMO the Ellington fountain pen simply fails to write. The ink doesn’t flow from the nib. I was using an Ellington black cartridge that snapped in with a definite click. When the pen failed to write I checked the cartridge again and it seemed to be well sealed and seated just fine. I pushed on it several times to see if it would move further in, but it didn’t move, so I think it was inserted all the way and not leaking. I have many other fountain pens. Some are excellent and others difficult in every way, I even have several throw-away models by Pentel, Snow White, Pilot etc and many of these work very well. I have Hong Dian, Jinhao, Cross etc. I tested several of my older fountain pens against the Ellington, the results are in the photos. The Ellington was the worst of the test group. At least all the others wrote on the paper. The Ellington’s failure was a disappointment because it is by far the best looking pen. Mine was gold and blue. The gold looked like the real thing! The body of the pen was a deep aqua marine blue. Beautiful. Better than the photos. The grip was very good. The thickness was good, but I like the “fat” pens and this is far from being in that category. On top of not writing the nib grabbed the paper and it was very scratchy. Of course , the lack of ink flow was probably the cause of that. I will try again to find a much better pen than the ones I use that are either 4-5 years old and wearing out or do not write well enough. Maybe Waterman? Who knows? Who can tell without actually writing with them? I am limited on the price. $100 maxes me out. I can hear the elite types laughing now. “A good fountain pen for less than $500? What a rube.” Nonetheless, a $100 pen is a lot for me, so I will see if I can prove them wrong. AD2

Outstanding buy! A must try!
Bottom line, I love this pen. It's become one of my favorites quickly. The good: * Smooth writer - using Waterman Audacious Red ink, wrote nicely on the first inking; VERY smooth on multiple paper types (Leuchtturm 1917 A5 lined notebook, Tūl legal pad, Strathmore Mixed Media 300 Series, and Office Depot legal pads) * Easy inking - Piston adapter works easily and writes well following first inking * Value - For what this cost, it is a phenomenal pen that punches well above its weight * Construction quality - Excellent materials used; metal pen body with resin exterior feels very sturdy and like it was built to last for a very long time * Posting - the cap posts well and does not feel loose as the caps on several of my other pens (some of which I've spent a good deal more money on than this one) do The only thing I can think of that some people may not like about the pen (but I love) is that when the cap is posted, the pen can be "tail heavy" in the hand. This is something I had to really reach for to put in the review because I've seen some who are concerned about that. In my hand, though, I like the tail heavy feel of the pen.

The pen and customer service are both excellent.
This pen looks and feels impressive. At first touch it’s a bit heavy, but a lot of the weight is in the cap. If you put the cap to the side it’s very balanced. The nib (that’s the tip right?) is a bit thicker than I expected, but it makes for a beautifully smooth writing experience. The pen just glides. It comes with a cartridge compatible with an ink well, and short disposal cartridges. It’s also compatible with the Waterman Large Standard Ink Cartridges (which had I purchased previously). Being compatible with three different ink sources is convenient feature. The pen comes loaded with the “ink well” cartridge installed, and I was unsure of how to uninstall this. But the QR code and the excellence customer service people rescued me in all of 3 minutes. 5 minutes into opening, I had the disposable cartridge refitted, and I was writing things down. I’m just getting into journal writing, and while I love a good roller ball, but I’m fairly new to fountain pens. My dad on the other hand, gets a pen every year from his boss (he worked at the same hospital for 30 years). He happened to be with me when I opened it up, so he took it for a spin. Even with his experience of his Mont Blanc and his calligraphy pen sets, he was very impressed with this. I’ve only had it for a few hours, but I’m loving writing with a running hand. The ink flow is evenly distributed, the ink runs quickly but dries quickly, so I haven’t smeared it yet, and it writes well at all angles and speeds. So far I’m a big fan. This is going to be a tremendous help for unpacking my thoughts and improving my cursive penmanship. The $40 was worth it. Other things I noticed: 1. The customer service was excellent. They immediately connected to FB messenger, which I use routinely, and knew precisely the questions to ask. 2. The packaging was sturdy and well made. It had a bunch of dried ink inside the box which was a bit weird, but nothing on the pen or in the case, just on the protective laminated paper which houses the case. 3. The cap has 3 parts: the little nub on the top, the paper clip thing and the cap proper. The cap has cheap plastic threads which connect the nub to the cap proper. But this is probably never going to be relevant. All the rest of the materials are metal and they seem sturdy. If the pen breaks in a few days, I’ll come back with a follow up, but for now, I think I have a new favorite pen.

Fantastic...
I'm so happy with this purchase. I love writing with a fountain pen and this is a beautiful pen. The weight is perfect, not too heavy, and really well balanced. The nib is smooth, allowing effortless writing with perfectly matched ink flow. I chose the completely black style, which is just stunning. This pen was well worth the purchase price. I would definitely recommend you give this a try.

Nice pen, writes thicker than I expected
Feels nice in the hand and has a luxurious, premium appeal. The nib took some time to wear in and feel smooth but after a week of use it's much improved. The medium nib has a broader pen stroke than I expected. Lines are quivalent width to 0.7mm ballpoint gel ink pens I own despite this one being advertised as 0.5mm. In hindsight I would have picked the fine nib over medium. Parts and accessories are very expensive to ship to Australia, a new nib is almost the same price as a whole new pen.

Bon stylo à encre
J'aime beaucoup ce stylo, l'écrite est fluide même après plusieurs jours sans m'en servir, il ne "gratte" pas le papier. La couleur est jolie.

It's the smoothest pen I've ever used. The quality is truly superaltive.
This pen is awesome! As soon as the nib touched the paper, I knew I’d made the right choice. The ink flow was perfect and it dried so quickly. I prefer to use it without the lid as it’s the perfect weight for me and sits so comfortably in my hand. It looks beautiful too. I chose the green one because it looks really classy. I haven’t used a pen and ink for years, so I was rather cautious about buying a fountain pen again. I’ve tried others in the past, but they were disappointing - messy, with uneven ink flow, so now they just sit on my shelf collecting dust. I honestly can’t recommend this pen highly enough. Trust me, you’ll end up throwing out all your other pens, whether they’re ink pens or ballpoints

A Beautiful Performing Fountain Pen !
The pen writes very smoothly! The matte black finish looks good! This is an all black pen weighing about 32.5 grams and 140 mm when capped. The cap with an octagonal finial posts well but a bit heavy at the end. The pen comes with a piston ink converter and 3 ink cartridges. Click-0ff- cap with a nice click sound ! I like the medium nib which is black too and a nice logo. Overall a good fountain pen to posses ! Value for money too !
