Liver Health Supplement for Large Dogs - Milk Thistle for Dogs Liver Support with S-Adenosylmethionine (Same) & Silybin - 30 Tablets

We were giving our senior pitbull a lover supplement that is brand name and cost about $76 and it just wasn't sustainable for our family to continue to have to pay that. So I did the research. This actually has the same ingredients but at a much more reasonable price and it's easier for her to absorb! Perhaps it's the form the tablet comes in but either way she takes it no problem and there isn't a battle each time. Actually she gets excited for her medicine time because of it!

My dogs been on these daily for a couple of years now since he became diabetic per vet's advice and he's been doing great on every check up. Way cheaper than the name brand that starts with a D that the vet's like to push but my vet is very understanding she said this is just as good and way cheaper.

Works great less expensive than other liver supements

I bought this as an alternative to the overpriced Denamarin. While the pills are smaller, this works well when you have smaller dogs and are able to give them one each. I've read reviews that stated that they are hard to break apart. I had no trouble breaking then apart. In fact, I find them much easier to break apart than Denamarin. As far as the affect it's having on my dog, I can't answer that yet since I just started putting him on it. That is the reason for the 4 stars. Also, I can't determine flavor since it's mixed with his food, but he doesn't seem to notice. He has had no negative reactions to it yet and has a little bit more active. I can't say whether giving this to him is the reason for him being more active or not, but he was reported as having elevated liver levels in his las visit prior to giving him this.

My senior dog has been using this supplement for over a year now. A few months before she started taking this, she used to take Denamarin. She had elevated liver enzymes. I think it was 50-75 over the highest normal. Denamarin did it’s job. However, it wasn’t cost-effective for me, so I looked for an alternative. I found this. I read the reviews first, and I took a chance. Fast forward 6 months after she started taking this, my dog’s liver enzymes was only 5 above the highest normal. Another 6 months passed, which was the week of Thanksgiving 2025, her liver enzymes were only 1 above the highest normal. As far as side effects, she had none. I give it to her with her first meal of the day. This supplement is doing it’s job for my dog.

Our pup of 14yrs old is has started having diminished liver function. She also was peeing more often than not. We had her on a Vet prescribed meds for a yr. And it was $100. For 30 days. We could no longer with other meds keep up as we have Danes too. To the point, she has done tremendously well on Silmarin! She is much more mobile happy and bright eyed than with the Vet meds. I am not joking as she is our furbaby!

We use this as an alternative for a super expensive liver supplement. My dog was prescribed by the vet ….,…. My doghad retesting of his liver enzymes, and the doctor has told us that we could stop taking the liver supplements, we just retested to see if the enzymes were in the same place, and his liver enzymes are perfect. Couldn’t recommend this enough. Half the price and did a hell of a job.

I purchased this supplement for the same reason we all did— a cheaper alternative. Well, this was NOT an alternative at all. In fact, it’s caused major side effects in my dog. She was on this product for almost a full month. Through the month I noticed her behavior change significantly & became extremely worried. Extremely lethargy + sleeping almost 24/7 towards the final week she was on it. Restlessness at night. No energy for walks, she seemed like a shell of her normal self- very distant. Soft stool, loss of appetite & difficulty walking after the 3rd week. I was trying to pinpoint how she could have so many issues occur so quickly. I realized they all began after starting these pills. I skipped her dose for ONE day, and BAM— she’s significantly improved by the next day. Perky, playful, sassy, AWAKE, less issues walking, she seems more comfortable.. and I suspect she will continue to go back to her normal self as I throw the remaining pills in the TRASH. BE CAREFUL. I wouldn’t recommend this to anyone because it put my dog at more risk, & caused significant issues. Side effects are MAJOR.
