Martin MA540FX FX Flexible Core 92/8 Phosphor Bronze Acoustic Guitar Strings - Zinc Flashed Inner Core (Custom / Light, .012 - .054)

wow Guys, these are incredibly to play and the price is amazing

I bought these on a whim whilst auditioning some different strings. Spent out on some Thomastik Infeld Spectrums, a range of DRs, the new D’Addario coated doodahs and some others. I’m not a big user of signature products as they’re usually just a rebadged cash cow version of stock strings, but Tommy E is a picker I respect and I appreciate that he gets great tone from a simple setup. I use AER amps also, and figured that adding strings to my rig that jive so well with TE’s setup had to be worth a try. I put them on my Gibson Advanced Jumbo Flame Deluxe (a maple slope shoulder dreadnought) and was instantly impressed. Sweet, ringing brightness and quick response, good balance and silky overtones that are present but never overbearing. That was last September. I played a couple of gigs with the guitar in between Covid shutdowns, and then spent a couple of months in hospital in October and November. I picked the guitar up when I got home from hospital and to my delight the strings were still sounding great. Eventually changed them in April this year! Feel wise, these are marginally more flexible than standard Martins, but don’t expect them to be noodles…they still have some fight and bite, but are a little more pliable. I love ‘em…will put them on more of my guitars from now on.

I have never been a fan of Martin strings. I often thought the guitar manufacturer others look up to would give their name to the ultimate strings but most Martin strings are very middle of the road although to be fair, reasonably priced. These flexible core ones were recommended by a luthier friend so I thought I’d try them. The 12-53 ones are actually rather good and as I type have outlasted any other Martin strings I have bought. They seem good value. Not the best strings in the world but fit for purpose. They bend well too. Not bad.

A terrific brand for acoustic guitar strings. Well packed to avoid corrosion. Plenty long enough so they are easy to fit. The tension is quite low with these lighter gauge strings They are bright and jangly which is my preferred sound.

I play for several hours a day and have several guitars. I tried a free set of these and absolutely loved them so I bought some more. They seem to last longer than my usual d’addarios and don’t lose their shine as quickly.

Bought for my grandsons guitar on advice of my husband because he won't buy any other type. They have clarity of sound, they are very flexible and easy on the touch... and what marvellous music they make : tip tho - a decent guitar is a must!! You won't get the same effect on a cheap guitar.

De momento no he cambiado desde hace mucho tiempo de modelo de cuerdas. Me encanta su sonido, y sobre todo su facilidad de tocar, notándose mas blandas al tacto que el resto, lo que facilita notablemente tocar la guitarra cuando no tienes tanta fuerza o eres aficionado. Además, de momento no he tenido ninguna rotura, las limpio siempre después de tocar y les aplico dunlop 65 de vez en cuando para lubricarlas, y ningún problema. Duran mucho, las suelo cambiar por tiempo, no por desgaste.

Marvelous. Bright tone, durable.

Not my kinda of strings, they broke easily on my guitar

C'est une question de goût, évidemment, mais ces cordes me conviennent bien, brillantes mais pas trop, relativement stable dans le temps et de bonne facture
