## Description

Demonstrating fantastic versatility; Macro, portrait and general subjects are all possible without changing lenses. Built to capture the finest detail, the AF-S DX Micro NIKKOR 40mm f/2.8G from Nikon delivers stunning close-up shots exposing hidden worlds of patterns and textures practically impossible to detect with the human eye. Wonderfully easy-to-handle, this lens is versatile enough not to limit photographers to one particular subject, shooting macro, portrait and general subjects with outstanding sharpness and beautiful bokeh. Remarkably light, compact and agile, the AF-S DX Micro NIKKOR 40mm f/2.8G lens serves as an exceptional complement to DX cameras. Up Close and Personal Providing high resolution and contrast, this standard focal length lens is a great choice for intricate food photography or detailed product shots. Focusing as close as 0.163m (from focal plane) and boasting a 1:1 reproduction ratio , the AF-S DX Micro NIKKOR 40mm f/2.8G offers true macro performance for close-up photography [1]. With a fast maximum aperture of f/2.8, subjects can be singled out against a pleasantly blurred background and sharper handheld shots are achievable in low-light. Capturing the daisy with exquisite sharpness, the rounded 7-blade diaphragm renders a beautiful, natural background blur at its wider aperture settings. Strikingly Crisp Providing outstanding optical performance, the lens comprises 9 elements in 7 groups and a seven rounded-blade iris diaphragm which renders a beautiful, natural background blur at its wider aperture settings. With the Close-Range-Correction system , the lens elements are configured in a floating element design wherein each lens group moves independently to provide superior picture quality when shooting at close distances. Silent Precision Nikon's AF-S technology is yet another reason why professional photographers like NIKKOR lenses. Nikon’s exclusive Silent Wave Motor (SWM) converts travelling waves into rotational energy to focus the optics. This enables high-speed autofocusing that’s extremely accurate and super quiet. So for discrete shooting you can set up the shot in an instant and camera focusing won’t disturb sensitive subjects like wildlife. Using an innovative floating element design, each lens group moves independently to achieve superior performance at any distance. Switching Focus Combining ease-of-use and maximum precision the AF-S DX Micro NIKKOR 40mm f/2.8G lens has two focus modes. In addition to Manual focus, Manual-priority autofocus (M/A) allows you to switch from autofocus to manual operation with virtually no time lag, even during AF servo operation and regardless of the AF mode in use. This gives all the benefits of fast, automatic focusing while still retaining the ability to make fine focus adjustments before taking the shot. NIKKOR Quality Cleverly crafted in a way that only an optical manufacturer can understand, Nikon creates technologies that make NIKKOR lenses the best choice for any type of still or moving imagery. Omitting the need for an aperture ring, G-type lens aperture is controlled electronically through the camera. Electronic adjustment is not only very efficient but also allows Nikon to place a weather sealing on the lens mount, so you can shoot with complete confidence. Small enough to be carried everywhere, the AF-S DX Micro NIKKOR 40mm f/2.8G lens from Nikon will reveal hidden beauty in the smallest subject and the greatest of landscapes. [1] The actual focal length of 40mm has an angle of view equivalent to that of a 60mm lens in 35mm [135] format.
