Hi, Is this Fernox F1 a 500ml bottle that is concentrated to cover a full central heating system typically with 12 radiators?

Accepted Answer

No.  Fernox F1 comes as either a 290 ml bottle of Superconcentrate that you can add via a filling point at a radiator (e.g. the bleed valve) OR in a 500 ml bottle that you can either pour into a radiator (if you have a sealed system) - or via the header tank - as you refill your system.  The 500 ml bottle dilutes to serve a 3 - 4 bedroom house and a capacity of 100 litres.  Fernox's site doesn`t mention the number of radiators but I believe my last bottle said 8 - 10 radiators ???  I also understand that a Double panel radiator counts as TWO radiators.... so buying two bottles would be best, a worthy product. Try the few nails in jam jar of tap water and few nails in jar of system's diluted mixture (catch some as you bleed your rads) and note the results after a few days, the Fernox ones will be shiny still, the others' rusted. This will also re-assure you that you have a strong enough mix for your sized system...... .  Repeat test annually and just top up with new once mix starts to shows discoloured nails.  Simple, easy, re-assuring and cheap.  Bottom line, Fernox F! is a GREAT product and one that I credit with keeping my previous boiler running for some 30 years with the ONLY repair being a replacement pump. Hope this helps.

Is this the new or the old formula, how many litres will it treat 100ltrs or 130ltrs ?
